Stepping out of the building and out amongst the old building facades, you feel like stepping back in time. The 10min walk on one road to Edinburgh Castle was great.

A city of heritage, heart and of course Hogmanay, Scotland’s capital is vibrant and edgy. Whether or not you come for one of its many festivals, Edinburgh is quite simply a feast for the senses.
The wealth of Edinburgh sights ranges from Holyrood Palace to the Botanical Gardens, Princes Street to the Royal Mile. Overseeing them all is majestic Edinburgh Castle. Be there at sunset on a clear day to see the city below bathed in a warm, orange glow. Simply stunning.
Wandering the streets, the smell of fish and chips wafts by, with the unique twist of salt ‘n’ sauce – a must-try variation on this favourite dish. Follow it up with a smooth whisky and you’ll start to feel like a local.
For a taste of Scottish culture, a kilt-wearing busker often plays the bagpipes on Waverley Bridge, while traditional folk music can be heard in some Old Town pubs. Complete your stay with a rugby match at Murrayfield or a round at one of the city’s 14 golf clubs, and you’ll have the true Edinburgh experience.

It is worth booking some things in advance.
It is worth booking some things in advance. We missed out on Edinburgh castle as all tickets were sold out but other than that it is a great city. We didn't have a bad meal (we did not eat in the touristy area tbh!) and everyone was super friendly.
We explored Old Town, went to some museums, went up St Arthur's seat and ate some lovely food.

I liked the sights I specifically wanted to see in Edinburg,...
I liked the sights I specifically wanted to see in Edinburg, but the city is too commercialized. Too many pubs with fatty foods, and not enough healthy food. Also there were not grocery stores near the Royal Mile. I felt fruit and vegetable deprived the whole time I was there. The city buses were never on time if they came at all. There needs to be more street signs! It is terribly difficult to navigate as a pedestrian with Google Maps. In most other cities outside the United Kingdom, I have not had this problem.

I love that it is a walkable city.
I love that it is a walkable city. It is so quaint with beautiful scenery. A medieval city with a modern twist. So much to do and see. You can walk everywhere. We took the tram, the train to Glasgow, and a tour of the Western Highlands. I would encourage visitors to explore Leith, Stockbridge and Dean Village. All of them are quite different and it gets you away from lots of tourists on the Royal Mile and Old Town.

Magnificent city - lots to see and do.
Magnificent city - lots to see and do. Its architecture, history and cultural attractions are great. Easy to walk around and move around in general. Friendly people, good food, scones , jam and cream offered for breakfast too!
The hotel is absolutely gorgeous, not too far from Edinburgh city centre, we took a taxi into the city one day and it cost just over £20. The staff were very friendly, the room was clean and the shower was great. We didn’t use the facilities since we were out but they have a wide range of things to do, and the pool is open late. The bar staff were very friendly, and introduced me to my new favourite cocktail!
The location was a bit of a distance from the city centre but easily walkable and there were plenty of buses from just round the corner. The room was perfectly adequate with everything I needed. It was lovely having a breakfast delivered to my room every day and there was a big selection to choose from. The price was excellent compared to other hotels/guest houses in Edinburgh. Would highly recommend.
Exceptional services by Ibis. The hotel is at best possible location. Ten minutes walk to Edinburgh Waverly and 5 mins to the Scotland museum and royal mile. The room was clean and spacious. There were so many restaurants near the hotel with the hotel itself having a bar and restaurant. Overall a great value for money. Do take ot if you get it at any deal
We have stayed here 3 times now as it's a nice quiet hotel away from the hustle of the city centre & only 10 mins in a taxi & ideal for visiting the Edinburgh Tattoo.
The Staff are very friendly & helpful. There's a great selection of items for every palate for breakfast.
We will stay here again next year also. Recommended.
This was a relatively cheap ( by Edinburgh standards) 2* hotel, so I wasn't expecting too much. The room was large and reasonably clean, although it wasn't cleaned the second day of our stay. Not too far from the city centre with buses nearby.
