We are seasoned travellers in our mid seventies to put this in context. The location of the hotel was good. The room was functional and relatively large but essentially basic. We were supposedly upgraded from our original booking but it didnt feel like a superior room. The room had everything we needed. The staff were very helpful. The extension cord and multi point adapter was useful. The bed was comfortable.

Very good location - walking distance to Old Town with plethora of great restaurants along the way. We were too tired to walk back from Royal Mile, took the bus and the stop is right across the road from the hotel! We stayed in standard double with sofa bed, and it was basic but very good, clean, with tea/coffee facilities (bottled water would have been good though). Bathroom is clean and shower cubicle is massive. Gym is fantastic for a 3star hotel - we were pleasantly surprised and went every day of the stay! And the Lebanese restaurant that is located in the hotel is a MUST try, food is delicious and democratically priced (we had set menu lunch).

A city of heritage, heart and of course Hogmanay, Scotland’s capital is vibrant and edgy. Whether or not you come for one of its many festivals, Edinburgh is quite simply a feast for the senses.
The wealth of Edinburgh sights ranges from Holyrood Palace to the Botanical Gardens, Princes Street to the Royal Mile. Overseeing them all is majestic Edinburgh Castle. Be there at sunset on a clear day to see the city below bathed in a warm, orange glow. Simply stunning.

We had such a fabulous time in Edinburgh!
We had such a fabulous time in Edinburgh! The city is so beautiful, clean, and tidy and not too 'busy' that you couldn't walk freely or into restaurants with last minute / no bookings.
So many sights and attractions to see which we thoroughly enjoyed. The food was great quality and so many cuisines to choose from!
Would highly recommend this city to others and would definitely come back ourselves!

The city centre was a good mixture of modern and historical.
The city centre was a good mixture of modern and historical. We took a tour bus around the centre and it shows you all the key sites and the price was good value, you can hop on and off as many times as you like at the different locations. I went up to arthurs seat and while it was a physical challenge, it was a great experience that I would definitely recommend doing.

History surrounds you with views at every turn - so much to explore and view - there is lots of hills and cobbled stone streets so not a location for those with mobility issues unless as part of a tour! This city is a must see’
Charming, historic boutique hotel, with a wonderful restaurant. Rooms are comfortable and cozy. Edinburgh Castle, the Royal Mile, Hollyrood Palace, Old Town, and Arthur's Head are all within a 30-minute walk. If you are here on weekends, street parking is free, but otherwise is expensive throughout Edinburgh. Staff is extremely helpful, and the hotel offers a welcome laundry service at a modest price. A very romantic place very much in keeping with Edinburgh's charm. Highly recommend.
The room was spacious and clean, the bed was comfortable and so were the pillows.
The hotel is well located for travel in and out of Edinburgh city centre with bus stops right outside.
The facilities were good, staff were friendly and welcoming. We used the pool but didn't spend any time in the gym - both of which were included in the cost.
The buffet breakfast was better than expected and reasonably priced.
Exceptional services by Ibis. The hotel is at best possible location. Ten minutes walk to Edinburgh Waverly and 5 mins to the Scotland museum and royal mile. The room was clean and spacious. There were so many restaurants near the hotel with the hotel itself having a bar and restaurant. Overall a great value for money. Do take ot if you get it at any deal
Location is good as it's around 15-20 mins by walk to old town and touristic attractions. Including car park which is important for someone coming with car. Beds are comfortable and room size is acceptable. I stayed there with my brother and sister and I think one of the best options near city centre for groups of 3 people. I think good value for money.
Room was very spacious, bathroom clean , towels where spotless etc bus stop into the city of Edinburgh just a couple minutes walk from the main entrance. Staff brilliant, typical weatherspoons pub great prices for food and drink ( alot cheaper than ones in the city centre) Great stay will definitely return. Also a car park at rear hotel if driving .
Clean hotel, everyone was friendly and welcoming. The bed was big and comfortable and the room was a decent size. A breakfast is available for £13 per person and it is definitely worth it to pay for it. The hotel is located outside of Edinburgh but just a few minutes walk away is a bus stop with buses running every other minute into the city centre.
The hotel was not clean floors dirty and as for the location was too far from Edinburgh it said in its location was 10 mins to the city centre not in walking more like 35 mins which is not good as Edinburgh is all hills this probably reflected in the price, staff not great but wouldn't recommend it at all
This is a lovely new hotel in the heart of Old Town. The rooms were beautiful, spacious and modern. The hotel staff were super friendly and helpful. You were always greeted warmly. Loved the food as well as the innovative cocktails we tried. Everything was first class. We will definitely be back!
Hotel du Vin is in a perfect location for exploring Edinburgh's Old Town. Despite being in the middle of the city, our well-equipped (coffee, iron, refrigerator, safe, bath soaps, etc.) room was very quiet. There are public spaces for relaxation, and many nearby places to eat. It was a good choice.
Very nice breakfast and lovely, attentive staff . The room was quiet and warm with a spacious bathroom. The hotel is quite a way out of the city centre, but the local transport links are excellent and very straightforward. It is also within walking distance from Edinburgh Zoo.
Coming into Edinburgh by train, this location was perfect - directly across the street from Waverley Station! We didn’t have to carry our luggage very far at all — about a 60 second walk. The proximity of the property, between Old Town and New Town was also ideal!
I love the location. Its handy for meeting friends and having a lovely meal in the carvery. Bus stop right outside the front door for buses into Edinburgh City Centre. Have always used this hotel as I like the service you receive from all the staff.
Very nice hotel in a quiet neighborhood .A spacious, beautiful room and very clean. It is 10 minute walk from the new town and 15-20 minutes from the old town. Also very close to Dean's village and a beautiful walk along the river Leith
Location was great, short walk to the train and Royal Mile. The city centre bus goes from the airport and stops right around the corner from the hotel. Breakfast was tasty and there was a good selection of food.
Great hotel, close to city centre and superb value.
No cooked breakfast due to Covid restrictions but substitute was more than adequate.
Will definitely stay again when next in Edinburgh
I’ve used this hotel so many times of the past 3 years for work, and also with family. It’s not far from Edinburgh City Centre and having the use of the Swimming Pool/Gym is a nice extra.
Room was a good size.Staff were very helpful and friendly.Bed was very comfortable. The hotel was in a great central location for Edinburgh city centre.
