The property was gorgeously decorated with lots of interesting items. The bed was very comfortable and the shower hot and strong. I loved the picture of Frida Kahlo, I’m becoming convinced she follows me!! I was staying here to attend a party nearby. My friends stayed in a nearby hotel and visited me here, we all agreed I got a much better accommodation for the same price!! The property was very well equipped and had absolutely everything I needed. The town itself is beautiful too, some beautiful buildings and the short stroll to Preston Mill was lovely.
With free parking, a spa and an award-winning restaurant, Marine North Berwick has views across the Firth of Forth. Overlooking North Berwick Golf Club, the grand building has stylish rooms.

Very well kept, pretty seaside town with harbour and long stretch of sandy beach. There is a regular train service to Edinburgh (approx 20 mins) so it is easy to go and spend a day exploring the city. Good coffee shops on the high street (particularly Parkers) and a couple of local craft shops (e.g. The Makery and Found). There are lovely coastal walks especially the one round the cliff but beware on a windy day it can be quite a battle getting round!

Dunbar is a lovely place to visit - lovely walk from the town to Belhaven Bay. Like most wee towns nowadays the town centre is a wee bit tired but there's everything you need and on a good day it's hard to beat. Great for children....the harbour area and beach are clean and well looked after

Great town with some lovely independent shops! The Community Bakery is well worth a visit - the choice is fabulous; highly recommend the Donker rye loaf, the cheese scones, flapjack, the pies, banoffi pie... The list is endless!

A wonderful town, with lots to do, and we were very pleased to find (unexpected) that there was music festival on). The walks were wonderful along the beaches and harbour, with a nice range of shops and cafes to visit when raining. Very friendly response from shop/cafe holders. We visited the John Muir museum which was amazing and the Town House was excellent. Not sure if there is one, but might be good to have a "food review" of the town, with options to go including the cafes, pubs and restaurants, as it felt a bit hit and miss on occasion. Aside from that, great place, we will come again next year.

The folks at the information center where very helpful.
The folks at the information center where very helpful. Dunbar is the birthplace of John Muir, also known as "John of the Mountains" and "Father of the National Parks", was a Scottish-born American naturalist, author, environmental philosopher, botanist, zoologist, glaciologist, and early advocate for the preservation of wilderness in the United States.
The employee at the rail station was down right miserable and gave me a very bad impression of the Scottish people in Dunbar.

Great sea front with cliffs, castle, historic fishing...
Great sea front with cliffs, castle, historic fishing harbour (well, 3 harbours really), and chatty locals. A few top restaurants, and the usual mix of pub food and ethnic. Yes there are chip shops - one of them excellent with sit-in. Rail station with frequent service to Edinburgh. Useful bus service to North Berwick, once you have found which of the information sources has the right times AND ROUTE... Some bus stops advertise services which no longer go to that stop, and the Internet information is unreliable and out-of-date. No problem like that on the trains, but the bus is much quicker to North Berwick, and more scenic - it takes you right to the Seabird Centre on the sea-front.
It was very nice pleasant one night stay. This hotel was good to have a stop during our long journey by car. The room was clean, quiet, had all we need (towels, tea/coffee, good wi-fi, clean comfy bed, air conditioner, hair dryer..). There was no stuff in the hotel itself, we got the room card at the pub next to the hotel. Parking was free and had plenty of free space. The pub/restaurant was really nice and cozy for dinner and breakfast, enjoyed the food there. I would definitely recommend if you are ok with the price.
The location was convenient as it was just a short drive into Dunbar where you can find good shops and the train which can take you into Edinburgh. It has lovely views towards the sea and feels spacious and is comfortable and there is plenty of seating for relaxing and dining. Great to have dishwasher tablets, washing liquid, hand soap, tea towels etc. Spacious decking area with seating and a bbq. Sadly it wasn’t warm enough for us to use but in the summer would be lovely.
Location was great as it 5min walk from the centre of dunbar. Hostel was very clean and pleasant. We had a room with 2 single beds which were clean and comfy. Shower facilities were clean and pleasant. The two ladies who run it couldn't do enough for you. They had great knowledge of the area and were just lovely human beings. We would go back in a heartbeat and look forward to bringing our families back here soon as the walks and cycles of the area are fantastic.
First person I met at reception was a lovely lady that’d only been there since august, she then served us in the restaurant and we chatted for a couple of mins, every other member of staff we met were so nice, everyone was so professional and polite. The hotel was perfect for our stop over, the restaurant looked amazing and the food was honestly hands down the best food we’ve had in a long time. Credit to the chef.
Perfect location near the harbour.
Clean, spacious and comfortable, with good heaters (really necessary to dry our clothes, as it rained a lot) and very comfortable beds.
Huge and comfortable sofa.
Not far from the main street, where we could buy groceries at Co-op. Short walk (10-15 minutes) from the station.
Dunbar is an amazing place if you like the sea and birdwatching.
Location was perfect with lots of walks on the beach and surrounding the golf course towards Dunbar where we stopped off at the Baywater Hotel in the beer garden with the dog. The chalet also had seating areas where you can get the sun all day. Everything you need in the chalet plus your own parking space which is a bonus.
More hotel than hostel the common areas are retro cool and comfortable. Everything is clean, clear, and organized. The staff -- especially Tom -- is brilliant. Extremely walkable location;. easy to take a Borders bus to Siccar Point, a major site in geology and the history of science.
I would love to return.
Host was very helpful in providing cot, high chair and big bag of toys for the baby plus milk and a bottle of wine.
Location and view was a real joy.
Dunbar has a pretty historic fishing harbour, with a good range of shops and excellent walks from the apartment
Would strongly recommend.
The caravan was fantastic, really nice and very spacious. We have been to lots of different caravans around the UK and this was the best we’ve been to. Really clean and everything you need. Decking area was fab and the site is lovely. Really great holiday for us and our 3 children.
Dunbar is a very good place to stay, the location of the hotel is ok but parking is restricted. The breakfast was very good and the gent working alone, who cooked and served the breakfast was very pleasant and provided a very good service 10/10
This is the best hotel location I have ever had; sea view outside window just feet away from water. coastal path walk just outside door. Easy walk from train station to hotel and into town. Good dinner and friendly staff.
Great 3 star hotel that could easily be 4 star. Great location lovely food and very clean also nice staff We had a room with jacuzzi overlooking to the sea amazing we would highly recommend it.
Location - I was visiting my family who live close by. It is a bit of a walk in to Dunbar High Street (20-30 mins) unless u know the shortcut which takes approximately 15-20).
Incredible staff, well cared-for and updated rooms, and the food was the best I’ve had in months! I would travel back to Scotland *just* to stay at Dunmuir hotel again.
