It was clean, comfortable, spacious, the breakfast was delicious, the host Jo was so friendly and accommodating even when we had to put back our arrival time till 10pm. She responded to our messages and calls immediately and we couldn’t have asked for anything more. We didn’t want to leave.

The hotel is set in a lovely area and you can see clearly there is a lot of upgrading taking place. Food was nice, rooms were clean and staff were great.

Dalton is a small village surrounded by beautiful countryside, and it is easy to get to Dumfries and the Solway coast (the drive to Dumfries includes some lovely views). We particularly enjoyed the wildlife and castle at Caerlaverock (half an hour's drive away).
