Reception and checking-in were fine. We booked a cottage which was just a 1 min drive away. First impressions were good as it's clean and quiet as it's separate from the main hotel. The only gripe was that we asked for a walk-in shower as one of my party had mobility issues. That was sorted but I didn't realise that the main bedroom was upstairs and the bathroom was downstairs which defeated the point of having a walk-in shower. The stairs were carpeted etc but a tad on the steep side. It caused us an issue but as it was only 1 night, it wasn't a disaster just a pain.
On the positive side, it's a gorgeous cottage.
We had dinner the hotel which was very nice albeit expensive for Inverness (roughly 100 a head)
Would I stay again? yes but maybe the cottage next door if it has no stairs.
We are thrilled to announce that Rocpool Reserve Luxury Highland Package is undergoing refurbishment and will reopen its doors on April 1, 2024, as an exquisite, exclusive residents-only hotel.

The staff( and manager )were exceptional and extremely helpful , the afternoon tea, spoons and breakfast were all fabulous.
The best stay. Comfortable, clean, spacious. Having the washer/dryer was a great touch for us light packers. Being from Texas we like things bigger and I was more than happy with the size of the unit.
The best part, our hosts were so accommodating. I needed to find a place to get hair and makeup done before an event. They scheduled both appointments for me after gathering all the info. They also left us milk for coffee, chocolate, wine… such a sweet touch. Any time we had a question, they were right there to help. Questions about directions there? Don’t worry, you’ll get detailed messages complete with pictures to help you get there.

I came here for the Culloden battlefield and Cawdor Castle.
I came here for the Culloden battlefield and Cawdor Castle. The battlefield is a special and emotional experience, the visitor Centre is excellent.
Cawdor can be missed, but it was still special and rich with associations.
