The hotel is located in lovely Strathpeffer, which is a town well worth visiting. From previous stays, seeing this old hotel up on the hill, it looked great from the outside!

Giving easy access to Inverness, the Black Isle and the West coast, Contin is an ideal base for a Highland holiday. Contin itself is a beautiful spot and the staff from both the local shop and the hotel Coul House were welcoming and friendly.

Nice village shop. Friendly people.
Nice village shop. Friendly people. We went a run up Strathconon...a trip down memory lane for us both. We had eaten a large lunch at Dornoch on the way south, so took in snacks from Tesco in Dingwall. Plenty of places to eat in Dingwall and Strathpeffer.
The location was an ideal location for our hillwalking holiday. The budget twin room had a microwave and fridge which allowed us to have a meal in our room after a long day on the hills. The continental breakfast offered a good variety of cereals, fruit, etc. The owner was very friendly and happy to talk to us about our days walking on the hills. We have stayed at the Achility Guest House before when walking in the area and would be happy to return if walking in the area again.
This is a stately former hunting lodge built by the McKenzie Clan in the early 1800's, and it is gorgeous. Rooms are lovely, the place is old, but fabulous, and it is a lovely place to linger all day. I spent the afternoon in the oak paneled bar by the fire place reading a good book while drinking a wee dram of fine whiskey. Breakfast is outstanding, and the restaurant at night is very good.
Lovely welcome, excellent food, like being a guest in a stately home. We had really helpful conversations about the local history, which added to our experience. The staff were well trained and the hotel was really well run by a couple who were committed to giving their guests the best time and treating them as family. First class!
Beautiful accommodation in a stunning location. The rooms are spacious, spotlessly clean and decorated to a high standard. Fiona and Derek have put much thought and effort into creating a most desirable guest house which rivals many top class hotels. Such a warm welcome and delicious breakfasts too.
The service and attitude from the staff was exceptional. Continental breakfast was plentiful and served to you. As much as you wanted.
Dog friendly by all the staff.
Didnt try any of the activities ,due to me recovering from major surgery, and my wife being disabled.
This hotel is perfect for a stop over and the owner, Mwambi, is brilliant. Mwambi makes this property great!
The rooms are basic, the facilities are basic, if your looking for a quick stop over it’s perfect, if your looking for a 5* hotel, try elsewhere!
The breakfast was a basic choice but you got as much as you wanted and it was all freshly made. Sandy the host was brilliant and really friendly with everyone in our party Inc children. The other staff where friendly also and very helpful.
Upmarket, charming, comfortable hotel in a beautiful country setting, a place to spoil yourself. InI particularly liked the whisky bar, the lobby with a roaring fire, the dining area and views and the walk through the fairy garden.
The member of staff we had contact with was incredibly helpful and friendly. The room was big and the view to the garden was fantastic. The location was ideal for a night's rest before continuing the journey towards Ulapool.
Lovely relaxing hotel, excellent afternoon tea with fantastic scones, wonderful dinner, fab breakfast and staff all very friendly throughout stay. Beautiful gardens in a very peaceful setting.
Everything. If you want to stay in a homely, Scottish, friendly hotel in a beautiful setting with so much to do and see then you've found it. My kids loved it here, we'll definitely be back.

Lovely dining room large and airy but with a cosy feel food was excellent
Our room and bathroom were a good size
An old fashion hotel in an old mansion with nicely updated facilities and very beautiful grounds. Restaurant was exceptional for dinner and breakfast. Very good service
The location was beautiful - on a quiet lane overlooking a beautiful loch. The room was huge and well decorated. Breakfast was super. Hosts like old friends.
Very friendly and helpful host. Guest house was excellent and we loved their continental breakfast. Thank you very much for accomodating us for an extra night.
