Lovely setting in a building you could tell was full of history and heritage. Great views, shame the weather wasn't better to enjoy the grounds. Nice room with a good comfy warm bed

The breakfast kind of made it for us. The gent making it is the previous owner and a very nice guy. Possibly the best breakfast we ever had at a hotel. The bar staff were also very friendly. We had some good chats with locals in the bar as well, which had a nice fire going.
We did Sunday night in room 3 and went back Thursday in room 5 on our way back from Scotland. 3 is a Twin and 5 a large double room with sky tv.

It was nice to have traditional English breakfast in an old English house. The area, the house and the garden were beautiful. The brief conversation with the erudite host (Gregory) was a bonus.

From the moment we arrived you could feel yourself relaxing, check-in was easy, friendly and warm. Going into our room we were taken back by the views and how well appointed the room was. Evening meal was superb, fresh local produce, respected and cooked to perfection. The cosy dining room allowed for that personal touch by the staff which made you feel as if you were the only guests. Breakfast was as delicious as the evening meal and as guests we all welcomed each other and made comment to the lovely location and evening meal. A stay which excels some of the more prestigious hotels brands!

I wish I'd had more time here, especially with regards to the food. If you let the staff know in advance that you have dietary requirements they can accommodate anything. Knowing that the chef (who's used to cooking game) was excited to be catering for vegans was refreshing.

Chirnside is a quiet village about 7 miles west of Berwick on Tweed but easily accessible to the A1. It was an excellent base from which to tour Northumberland, the Borders and the coastline north of Berwick through to Edinburgh

Great cottage plenty of room in it very clean , lovely walks round about it ,plenty of places to visit quite near , definitely need a car , lovely hotel just round the corner to eat and drink .our two granddaughters loved it plenty of room in cottage for them to run about , we're only back home a week and they're already asking when we're going back
This small homely hotel is situated very close to the place we wished to attend. The staff were very helpful and friendly, making us very welcome from prior to and during our stay.
In particular I have to mention Andy,Kimberly, and Kate. The room was warm and comfortable, which was a concern before we arrived as it was early January after all, and I must again thank Andy and Kimberly for an excellent breakfast on the day of our departure.

My wife and I cycled there from Berwick train station. The hotel had a lovely, safe place waiting to store our bikes overnight. We ate dinner and breakfast there and were quite pleased with both. Another nice touch was to find a quiet room for my wife as she had a job interview scheduled. We really felt everyone there went out of there way to make our stay just perfect.
The staff were phenomenal. We had an issue with our car upon arrival that the staff went out of their way to help us with. Food and service was excellent. Chirnside is very picturesque and the entire inn was fantastic value for money.
During our week-long trip around Scotland, this was by far our favourite hotel. The room was very cozy and clean, the food was great, and the hotel team was very friendly and welcoming. Thank you very much, we will be back!
