Auld Cross Keys Inn, hotel in Chesters

Centrally located in Scottish Borders on A698 between Jedburgh and Hawick in the picuresque village of Denholm.

Super little hotel/pub accommodation with great hosts/staff, very friendly and helpful.  I had a good sized twin/double room which was clean and cosy and equipped with a kettle and hospitality tray with tea, coffee, biscuits etc.  I had a room at the front which afforded me a brilliant view out across over the green and monument, enhanced by beautiful flowers in a trough in front of the window.  The evening meal was good, as was the very generous 'full English' the following day!  I've nothing bad to say about this property and would highly recommend :)

Bedrule Old Manse Glamping, hotel in Chesters

Located 26 km from Melrose Abbey, 50 km from Etal Castle and 45 km from Traquair House, Bedrule Old Manse Glamping provides accommodation situated in Hawick.

Fluffy towels, home baking, fresh eggs, comfy bed and the fire pit. The setting was idyllic and very peaceful. We enjoyed "meeting" the horses and dogs despite our anti-social wee mutt.

Very lovely and beatiful place, spacious room and bathroom. Tastefully decorated with good quality towels, bedding etc. Comfortable bed, very quiet at night. Superb breakfast with quality produce, we really enjoy it! The host Paul is very welcoming and friendly. And with the welcome treat - homemade scones and biscuits, very delicious. Very nice area to explore, love the 5-minute drive village Denholm, a place with good food and drinks. Highly recommended!

Balcary House Hotel, hotel in Chesters

Balcary House Hotel features a garden, shared lounge, a restaurant and bar in Hawick. Featuring dry cleaning services, this property also provides guests with a barbecue.

Recently renovated building with some lovely period features. There was a limited light evening meal choice offered which we were happy with as it saved us walking back into town. The food was freshly prepared to order and worth waiting for. Breakfast was adequate and served to us by friendly staff.

Branxholme Castle (Bed & Breakfast), hotel in Chesters

Located in Hawick and only 36 km from Melrose Abbey, Branxholme Castle (Bed & Breakfast) provides accommodation with garden views, free WiFi and free private parking.

Highly recommend Branxholme castle, it has been beautiful restored and the rooms are fantastic. The room is large with everything you need along with a communal lounge and there is even a tot of whiskey to make the evening complete. The grounds are stunning and there is a cafe within the grounds. The breakfast is out if this world, I have never seen so much fresh fruit provided with my yogurt. The cooked breakfast choices are fantastic and all delivered to either your room or the lounge. We enjoyed our first night so much , we stayed another night.

    · We came up to the Scottish Borders for a Keilder observatory event and stayed in Chesters at The Steadings cottage for two nights with our 3 children 10, 2 and newborn. It was a beautiful, peaceful location. Huge garden to explore. Our children really enjoyed meeting the dogs, horse, sheep and chickens and we enjoyed relaxing in the sun loungers on the patio. Games room with pool, table tennis and darts. Big trampoline. Fresh eggs from the chickens on arrival. Ros the owner was very welcoming and friendly. Would highly recommended for couples with young children. Kitchen excellently equipped, great travel cot

From start to finish we loved our stay at the steadings.

From start to finish we loved our stay at the steadings. Ros was extremely accommodating and really took good care of us. The cottage is beautiful and everything is of a high standard. Beds are very comfortable, lovely towels and each room smells gorgeous. I could have happily stayed longer. Even the hens were lovely and my son was very excited to give them a stroke.

Was at Chesters for a friend's wedding in nearby Hawick, didn't get to spend much time exploring or as many walks as we would have liked due to time constraints and the wedding, however a beautiful place and will definitely be back!
