Boasting a beautiful location next to the harbour, with rolling hills in the distance, this hotel is 5 miles from Machrihanish in the heart of Campbeltown.

Truly awesome experience. 10++ for the check-in staff and for the cleaners. Room was ace and the views and location were, well, can't get any better for Campbeltown. Worth the stay 100%

Situated in Campbeltown, 700 metres from Springbank Whisky Distillery, Ardshiel Hotel features accommodation with a garden, free private parking, a restaurant and a bar.

We enjoyed our stay so much. The staff were very friendly and could not have been more helpful. The hotel is near the centre of Campbelltown which was very convenient as we were Travelling by bus and going to an event in the Town Hall for 2 nights. The hotel had everything we needed from start to finish and nothing was too much trouble. From arrival to enjoying our packed lunch on the bus on the way home we could not have had a better trip.

Craigard House Hotel, hotel in Campbeltown

With far-reaching views over Campbeltown Loch, this unique mansion sits on the Kintyre Way on the outskirts of Campbeltown.

The room was huge with fantastic views across Campbeltown Loch. There was plenty of storage space for clothes, the bathroom was very clean and there was a desk for my laptop. I'd definitely recommend this hotel for other travellers. The food was also excellent, especially the evening meals. There was a garden at the front with benches and I wish we'd used it on the first day when the weather was great.

Erradale, hotel in Campbeltown

Set in Campbeltown, near Springbank Whisky Distillery and Mitchell's Glengyle distillery, Erradale is a recently renovated property, featuring free WiFi, water sports facilities and garden.

Checking in was by email then key safe - there didn't seem to be anybody there. The room was fine, but I had to trail down to a kitchen from the 2nd floor to make a drink. I was parked on a yellow line but it didn't seem to be a problem. There's a dodgy looking pub nearby and there was a Saturday night bash at the masonic hall, but no problems with car vandalism. I noticed little details like the hand-wash being diluted and no soap/gel in the shower. At £100 for the night, I thought it a little pricey.

Campbeltown is beautiful when the sun is out.

Campbeltown is beautiful when the sun is out. The trip was quite long, but again it was enjoyable when the weather was good. The way back across the Rest and Be Thankful wasn't so good as the weather turned bad. We were there on a work trip so we didn't visit any tourist spots, so I'm not sure how much there is to do there. But it's great for walks and scenery.

It was just right, not too busy and not too quiet, unfortunately the ferry from Campbeltown to Ardrossan had been withdrawn so we had to endure the long journey back which was not in our weekend plan. So if you are coming make sure the ferry is operating.

The town is on the downside of things but back on the way up. The two distilleries in town were excellent: Springbank and Glen Scotia and we toured both. Actually there is a small third one, Glengyle as well. There used to be over 100 distilleries before WW1. This is an area known also for its outstanding salmon and cheese. It's relatively undiscovered by tourists as well. I would recommend it and hope to be back again. Getting around in town was done with taxis.

Campbeltown is a very cozy, and very friendly little town!!!

Campbeltown is a very cozy, and very friendly little town!!! We loved the people there! People would go out of their way to help us with directions or any questions we had. The Harbour is so beautiful, breathtaking!! The town still has an old feel to it with a lot of the original buildings around 1700 to 1800’s still standing and in use!! Gorgeous architecture!! Be sure to tour around town on a rented e-bike or car. Well worth it!!! We had a wonderful stay in Campbeltown!!

I like Campbeltown, it's a lovely place with great food etc.

I like Campbeltown, it's a lovely place with great food etc. and I would encourage more people to visit. It may seem inaccessible as it's so far from everywhere else, so going out of your way to get there is well worth it.

I haven't been to Campeltown for 20 years or so and we visited on our mini tour of southern Scotland. A great base to venture out to Callander, Saddell and Machrihanish. We ate at No.42. The food is delicious, the staff engaging and welcoming but it's a bit pricey.

Brilliant location for exploring the South of the Kintyre peninsula, only a short drive from Campbeltown, (or walk/bus if you prefer). Apartment has everything you need to feel at home, we settled to the place the minute we walked in the door. Although situated near a road, we had no problem at all with traffic noise, and enjoyed a peaceful sleep every night. Lovely unobstructed views over fields to the hills.

Perfect location pretty much in the centre of Campbeltown, a short walk across the main road to the harbour. The apartment was spotlessly clean, with WiFi and all the amenities you would need. Really comfortable beds too! I emailed Sam and George asking for a slightly earlier check in. Had an answer within an hour accomodating my request. Perfect hosts.

Perfect stay for our first night of travel. Staff were so nice and helpful. We had our Day 2 required test kits delivered to the hotel and they made sure we had them at check in. They also let us know the best place for them to mail back. Hotel was nice, breakfast was terrific!

What can I say? Everything was just right. The room we've got was spacious and clean. Kirsteen was the best host showing us around and accommodation and asking our breakfast preference. Breakfast every morning was amazing. If you visit Campbeltown, stay here.

Kirsteen was welcoming and an incredible host. Great care was shown to present the room in an inviting way. Although the rooms were warm, due to unseasonably warm Scotland weather, they were comfortable and we had everything we needed.
