All staff members were very friendly and efficient in their roles. The quality and choice of breakfast was really good. We ate our evening meal in the restaurant and I have to say the food is plentiful and very good. Our room overlooking the gold course had an amazing view down the valley and was very comfortable and well equipped

An absolutely lovely bedroom with great attention to detail by Deborah! The bed was really comfortable and the location was great - just a couple of minutes walk to the High Street. Deborah was so helpful and very friendly - would definitely go back if I’m working in the area again! Thank you 🙏

The room was in the main hotel on this stay, comfortable, clean and modern. Staff were incredibly friendly including the manager Mark. Check in by the night clerk was very professional and helpful on both occasions. The food was fantastic, the chef does incredibly well and as an independent hotel nice to have some different flavours in there and lots of options. Wifi also worked well in main hotel so I was able to meet a deadline on a very late project which was great. Bar / restaurant / lounge areas incredibly comfortable and beautiful views of the surrounding hills.

We were only here for a night but needed to go in the town for breakfast. There were plenty of places to eat, a cinema and shops. We liked the facilities and would visit again. There are lots of lovely places around to drive to within a reasonable time, such as Caerphilly Castle and Cardiff.

McKenzies cafe. they do the best food in the area, breakfast to die for, staff are soooooo nice and polite. They were so helpful in sorting out a "Takeout" for the journey home. Parking (at the time) was free, behind the main street (coming in off the roundabout 50 yards on the right, sharp right). Asda, drive past (on your right) about half a mile, turn right, half a mile back to the shop ?? Nice cinema.

Blackwood is a small town with the main road holding most of the pubs, restaurants and shops, so easy to get around. There is plenty of parking in the town including a Lark car park if you do some shopping in ASDA......Also good for the lowest cost fuel in the area.
If you want fast food, there is a KFC, Domino's, MacDonalds, Papa John's, Fish and Chips, Subway's, plus more.
I like to eat at Red Chilli Indian, Bistro 8, Amici and The Black Prince Pub.
Lovely hotel and spa. The staff were really helpful and accommodating, and from the conversations I overheard they clearly get a lot of regulars staying. My partner and I used the spa facilities which were clean and varied enough for a quick visit. The dinner was excellent, and I have a gluten allergy which they catered to really well, a number of good options and gf bread
.
Overall I would stay again if visiting south Wales.
Great location with beautiful views, Food was to a really good standard with the exception of the steak and ale pie (steak was a little tough) but everything else on the plate was good. The room I had 104 was a little dated and the poor Wi-Fi made it difficult to carry out emails etc. but the bed was extremely comfortable. Really liked having use of the facilities and would recommend the hotel to others.
Very friendly staff. Room was lovely, everything really clean, bed was comfy. Went for the rugby. Good location. 10 min drive to station with taxi and then got a taxi home from Cardiff centre for £50 but between 4 of us was great. Very cheap accommodation compared to city prices, especially on match day. Photos of room doesn't do it justice. It was really nice!
This hotel is dated - it's tired and worn. The shower cubicle was uncomfortably small. However, the room was cheap so I didn't feel I'd been ripped off. It was adequate for the one night's stay. I will stay with them again soon, when I need the room for 3 nights. The receptionist was a nice lady.
The whole apartment is very well decorated, super spacious and comfortable, just what we needed! Rob was excellent in organising for the key to be given to us.
Good location if you're willing to drive after attending a concert in Cardiff and If you want to avoid the extremely high prices in the city.
Beautiful hotel and location. Obviously used for weddings, sue to its opulence, the exterior is grand and the interior original and historic. The restaurant dinner was delicious, and the breakfast (optional) was plentiful!
Very clean and comfortable. Excellent kitchen facilities and nice choice of breakfast items. Host was very quick to respond to questions. Good location near Blackwood town and it was handy to have parking available.
The area is lovely, beautiful surroundings.
The Hotel was ok for one night sleep.
Shower was lovely and hot even a bit low on pressure. Shower gel and shampoo was supplied
The lodge was fab. Great location just a short walk from Blackwood centre. Kerry and Mark were so welcoming. Generous breakfast. The lodge had everything.
