Staying at Down Hall was a real treat. The room was wonderful and the staff were really lovely. The grounds are great for a walk. Breakfast was hearty and the restaurants and cream teas were yummy.

Wonderful accommodation. The room, while quite small, was perfectly appointed. The breakfast room, The Diner, is an absolute delight. We will be recommending this place to our friends and family.

This charming, quiet town has lovely canal walks and a large public park next to the town centre. The high street has good eateries and nice little shops. Don't miss the Coffee House Cafe, with it's great sandwiches and all-day cooked breakfast!
If you want to explore further the helpful staff in the central tourist office will suggest various self guided historic walks.
It is a perfect spot to overnight only a 15 minute drive from Stansted airport (and is NOT on the flight path, so no noise of passing planes), and easily reached by public bus #510 (or #509) which runs a regular service to and from the town even at night.

Bishops Stortford is a lovely old town which is relatively compact so it is easy to walk around the town centre. There is a good range of shops and quaint tea rooms and excellent restaurants. There’s a river and the station is close to the town centre. It can be a bit noisy especially on Saturday evenings.

Bishop's Stortford is a very picturesque town with friendly people who seem disposed to being welcoming and helpful to travellers. We were only passing through on our way from Stansted Airport to London, nevertheless, we enjoyed visiting the town and would have liked to have stayed a little longer to explore it a bit more

I had limited time to explore the town but I enjoyed walking around on Saturday and noting the mixture of the old historic architecture and the new building. There were plenty of options to eat or stop for a drink.

Lovely little town.
Lovely little town. We was just staying overnight for the Standon Calling Festival and it’s perfect location for anyone going to this. Just about 20 minutes in a taxi from the site. Lots of pubs and nice coffee shops for breakfast the next day. Nice quaint little town with plenty to do.

We were in the area to attend a family wedding.
Hunter meet was an ideal location for us to stay.
The hotel was much more then we expected and what a Gem of a place. Friday night Lionel Richie tribute act was great and got us in a great mood for the weekend.
The staff were all friendly and helpful.
The rooms were a very good size, clean and comfortable.
There was a good selection for breakfast and you could have a choice of fried, poached or scrambled eggs all cooked freshly.
We would certainly like to return to Hunter Meet again.
Lovely spacious room…….really comfortable bed…….fantastic bathroom……..fridge on landing so I could store my smoothie ingredients as there’s no breakfast in bed and breakfast anymore due to more money needing to be stolen from the customer…….great shower……..and a horrible big wall mounted terrorvision to hypnotise me should I feel the need….
Loved the tent set up. The location was lovely, the communal area to relax was really homely and decorated well. There was ample cooking equipment and generous fridge space for your supplies. Overall you got the outdoorsy, stripped back feel but with everything you needed to enjoy it.
great communication with company, super location and property, ideal for walking into bishops Stortford town, great proximity for us for office and close to train station and stansted airport would recommend.
