Couldn't fault- from the first step over the threshold, staff were welcoming and friendly, without being too "in your face". Beautiful bedroom - such a comfy bed - and even if no sea view from the bedroom, the views at dinner and breakfast were amazing. Food was lovely - cooked with the best of ingredients and served with care - but I'd already hgh expectations there as I've eaten at the Knowes before.

I spent time in Banff, Macduff and Whitehills (nearest to the B and B) and found all three fascinating with a huge choice of places to eat. I can recommend Rock Fish chip shop, restaurant and takeaway in Whitehills and the Boyndie Visitor Centre for daytime meals, snacks and an all round great experience as they have gardens, a lovely shop and the food is excellent. Anywhere you go in this area, Cullen Skink (fish soup) is a must-try. There are beaches, walks and quaint harbours all around here, but the Boyndie Centre (about a mile inland from Whitehills) is definitely the first place I would take visitors. It's a friendly community enterprise and training facility, but with the quality and clued-up feel of a great place for locals and visitors alike.

Banff is a beautiful seaside town, with a lovely harbour and great views over to neighboring MacDuff. We had planned to visit historic Duff House, but unfortunately it was closed because of flooding... next time!

Banff is my home town and having grown up there I have a connection to the town and the area and I enjoy returning for short visits from time to time. Although it is different now and suffers the same demise of retail businesses that plagues all town centres, there is still much to do for the visitor. Golf, angling, dolphin spotting, sailing, walking, cold water swimming, dining, drinking, the art at Duff House, local museum, ...... a good base to enjoy the Scottish Riviera coast line with Pennan (of Local Hero fame), Gardenstown, MacDuff (Marine Aquarium), Portsoy (Boat Festival and Peaky Blinders).... and more. Hotels include Banff Springs and Fife Lodge and there are AirB&Bs to rent for a longer stay.

It has a lovely location, with excellent views over the Banff beach, sea and coastline. The property is very clean and has all of the required facilities required for a lovely self-catering stay. Teresa was a wonderful and friendly host, who also provided a tasty home-baked cake, along with bread and milk to start us off. Thanks again for a brilliant, comfortable stay and we can’t wait to return.

All we did was light the fire and relax. Walked on the beach everyday took a walk to Findlater Castle we kept driving to a minimum because we had heavy snow fall. However we did visit Banff, Buckie, Elgin, Cullen, Portsoy and Portnockie. Sandend felt like a film set absolutely beautiful place. I can't wait to return.

The cabin was lovely and well equipped for self catering. The location is fantastic also right off the high street and across the road from Banff Castle with great views over the bay below. We would definitely recommend booking moss cabin and we will likely be back again if we are up in the area.
