The staff went above and beyond. Nothing was too much trouble and service was with a smile. The hotel was very, very busy but staff still smiled answering all the demands The food was well cooked and there wasa good varied menu at breakfast. I enjoyed my stay and felt very welcome. Abbotsford Hotel is a beautiful old building that's recently been given lots of TLC and this has been done well. Sadly it's lacking a lift and so access upstairs for disabled is difficult. I don't know if this is achievable but if this facility is added I would give it full marks in every category. It's under new ownership and the new people have made it a pleasurable place to stay in for a visit to Ayr.
An award-winning hotel located in Ayrshire, 5 minutes' drive from Prestwick International Airport and with easy links by rail and road to Glasgow and Edinburgh city centre.

A slightly run down town that I believe is undergoing some investment which will be great for the area. Some parts are super and have some good upmarket bars and restaurants- The Drunken Coo was great for food. Be good to revisit to see it have a boost.

Good bars and restaurants.
Good bars and restaurants. Station needs someone to provide more information
Shops that are closed for good are unkempt and spoil the high street. Ayr used to be so clean and thriving but it's a sign of the times

Overall very good.A few issues with the property.
Overall very good.A few issues with the property.
Cleanness of some of the rooms could have been better. Dirty plug holes in both bathrooms. Black mould in shower ( en suite). Roof in front bedroom was leaking. Water dripping on to bed.
Some of the kitchen utensils hadn't been cleaned.
Stains on duvet. More attention to detail is required regarding the cleaning. The property could do with a deep clean.
The hotel had a very good atmosphere with an excellent restaurant which offered a 30 per cent discount on dinner food for the month of June. We took advantage of this deal for the entire period of our stay which saved searching for supper in town which was less than acceptable.
The location was great with direct access to the sandy beach in Ayr via a very large greensward
The staff were very helpful and polite, the hotel was very clean and the location was very central, there is also a great pub called smiths right next door where you can watch the football and have a marvellous meal,we booked this hotel to go to Ayr races which was only a short taxi ride away,we will definitely book the mercury next time we go to Ayr 10/10.
The hotel was clean, tidy and proved very accessible for the purpose of our visit to Ayr. Only met one member of staff who proved to be the owner who proved to be very pleasant and helpful. Breakfast was good and sufficient.
Excellent location for our trip to Ayr racing. Minutes from racecourse and city centre. 3 male adults but plenty space. 3 bedrooms and very spacious. Kitchen, garden, living room, parking etc
The staff were extremely helpful and knowledgeable about the area. The hotel and bar were very good and yes I would stay there again when we are next in Ayr.
