One of the nicest small towns in the area with a few tourist attractions including motor museum and narrow gauge railway. There are several shops and restaurants and a large town car park with EV charging.

Alford is a small town/village, about 27 miles west of Aberdeen. There is one hotel/pub there closed on a Monday, and restaurant only open at weekends, bar meals all week except Monday There is a Bistro that is only open till about 5pm a Chinese takeaway, although on its web page says it is a restaurant too but this is not open, an Indian and fish/chip carry out places too but all close quite early. A few shops including a bakers and provision shop a pharmacy and a few others There is a large co-op supermarket as well. Places to visit Transport Museum and a heritage Centre.
