A last minute change of plans had me searching for three rooms near Builth. This place popped up, and it was easy location that sealed the deal. We were really only looking for somewhere to stay, without worrying too much where… but after our stay, it’s clear this is a special place to book! It’s super easy to find.. I mean, who can’t find the show ground?? We parked the bikes and went to check in. We were greeted by super friendly staff, a good laugh, and super helpful.. and that’s before we even had keys in hand! Checked in and in desperate need of a shower, we searched out our rooms. They were spotlessly clean, great bathroom, and the shower was excellent. It all looked very recently fitted, or it could be that they just take good care of their accommodation here. Showered and changed, we hunted out the bar (which was opened up for us) and enjoyed a great pint while chatting with the top dog there. It always helps if you’re bikers, that the guy running the show is a biker too, but you can tell by his experience of running pubs since year dot, the fella would get on with anyone.. We were just preparing ourselves for the short(ish) wander into Builth for a couple beers, when we were kindly offered a lift! “Is there no end to the hospitality here”, I hear you ask..? Well that’s what I thought too! I got the impression the whole family pitch in here, and it’s great. I just wish we had booked the breakfast too, so I could leave a bit about that too.. but there’s always next time. in summary… great location, great staff, lovely clean rooms with comfy beds and good showers. The staff are friendly, helpful, really go out of their way for you. If you’re in the area for something at the show ground or on a tour around Wales… I cant recommend the place enough.

The house was ideal for our daughters, partner and grandson.

The house was ideal for our daughters, partner and grandson. Well equipped and comfortable. Great space for a family holiday. Good outdoor space, our dogs loved the field and stream. We loved the beautiful views. Visited, Erwood craft centre, Langorse Activity Centre with a fabulous instructor, climbing wall and abseil. The Merrie Fryer fish n chip shop in Builth Wells was excellent after a day spectating rallying in the Welsh forest stages.
