Hosts were very welcoming. The room was clean and comfortable, the bathroom bright and well appointed. The view from the room was a staggeringly beautiful panorama of the mountains. The hotel itself was charmingly old fashioned with a sense of art deco style. Dinner was excellent; the frites maison delicious. The village itself was outrageously picturesque, with lovely traditional Auvergne architecture.

The hotel is nicely located, near the main road but it's a quiet place. You need a few minutes to get there from the main road. The personnel is very friendly and helpful, the contact with them is very good - even if you come quite late (as I did). There is a small restaurant / pub which is pretty nice.

We liked the mountains and the area in general.
We liked the mountains and the area in general. We found the heatwave curtailed our hiking plans.
We found the local people very friendly but we would have appreciated more restaurants. They all seemed to be booked with guests staying in the hotel being given priority and there wasn't a huge choice elsewhere.
The castle in Peistels is well worth a visit and the lake area too( St Etienne Cantalès). Salers and puy Griou puy Mary, les gorges du pas de Cere. We were impressed by the variety of local dishes and recipes.

An old renovated farm with swimming pool. Full of char . Large rooms and bathrooms . Not air conditioned. Side kitchen with fridge and amenities if you want to bring your own picnic. Beautiful breakfast.
A bit to close to the road but quiet at night . Friendly hosts.

The area was lovely although it was too hot to hike for long. We enjoyed our tour of Vic-sur-Cere, organised by the Tourist Office. WE particularly enjoyed the town swimming pool and the surrounding park. The hotel was particularly quiet and the room north-facing which we appreciated when the temperatures soared to 36 degrees.
