Narbonne is perfect for a relaxing stay and as a base for the area. We used the local trains for visits to Beziers, Perpignan and Montpellier. Les Halles is a terrific indoor market and walking through the old centre there are plenty of cafes, bars and restaurants. I can't comment on nightlife.

The city itself is very nice -- a cathedral, part of a Roman road, two canals running through it, many excellent restaurants, friendly people. We enjoyed renting electric bikes and taking them to historic Gruissan, a village on the Mediterranean where we had an amazing shellfish lunch on a pier over the water (restaurant name is La Cambuse Du Saunier). The restaurant is located at the site of a desalinization operation.
Also had one of our best meals in France at O Juste, in Narbonne (21 Cr. Mirabeau 11100 Narbonne). It is small, and reservations are a must.

Beautiful, historical town.
Beautiful, historical town. Good amount of bistros/restaurants but some can be quite pricey. We used the supermarkets on some days to keep costs down. The food hall is a MUST.
The architecture is stunning along with the canal, museums and historical sights.
Highly advise getting a car to explore the towns within 30 minute radius.

It's a small city, but with a lively centre by the riversides, Many restaurants, things to see and do. The market was nice and we had a great tapas-lunch there.
The tourist train wasn't really worth it though, and if you don't speak french, you get earphones ... and on our row three of four plugins didn't work. They still refused to pay back money. That was cheap of them.
It's also close to the beach, and for 1.20 Euro you took the local bus aprox half and hour to reach the sandy beaches. In Saint Pierre la mer we really really recommend "Restaurant PAPA.PACO". Excellent food!
It's also very "centric", so going to towns like Carcassonne etc doesn't take long time, and trip over the day is no problem.

Charming small city between the Mediterranean and the Canal du Midi. Interesting local monuments to visit, and many varied restaurants showcasing excellent local wines and produce. Well worth a 2-3 day visit
The location is excellent, literally a few yards to the Market, shops, restaurants and bars. The apartment itself is very modern, clean and well equipped. It has the added bonus of an outside enclosed terrace with table and chairs and sun loungers for those of a mind. Narbonne is a lovely place and very laid back and relaxing. You can access Narbonne Plage for the beach in a quarter hour drive.
very welcoming, cozy, airy, clean appartment in the center of Narbonne, close to canal, cathedral, shops... We really enjoyed our stay a lot and will certainly return. Communication with Catherine was very easy, reliable and friendly. We came by train and the closeness to the bus station to Narbonne Plage (1,20 per trip) was very much appriciated :-)
We only stayed one night but will definitely be back. This hotel is a real gem!!! Ideally placed right in amongst the historic sites, restaurants and shopping streets of Narbonne. But its not just the location but also the attractive building, lovely rooms and charming staff and, If you book early enough, they also have on-site parking.
Dream property, surrounded by green, very calm and relaxing. The room and its bathroom were both incredibly spacious, the amenities spot on, and the common areas were stylish and inviting. Not to miss the excellent breakfast made by Jan, the property's co-owner. From now on, I'll always choose this place when in Narbonne area.
Centrally located to Narbonne market which was close by for our short stay in Narbonne. Apartment was well equipped with all what you need and a lovely court yard to sit outside and have croissants.
Great support from Antonio with directions from the train station, catching the free shuttle then a short walk to the apartment.
Everything was amazing, it surpassed expectations. It’s incredibly peaceful, feels very remote but can access Narbonne under 10 minute drive. Isabelle, the host, was great and her mostly homemade breakfast was lovely. The room is huge and decorated so nicely. Would definitely want to return for longer.
Lovely apartment with view of canal. Very close to bars and restaurants. Bus stop outside will take you to the beach at Gruissan or Narbonne plage. We came in on the train and the free bus takes you to the Market close to the apartment.
Brilliant Hotel with a huge attention for details which creates a cosy atmosphere.
I am guessing the real origin of Hygge style is the Villa Ambrosia.
Both Elodies are super nice and guest oriented

It is an OK place to stop and spend the night on the way from Spain to France. The parking is safe so you can leave your car without any problems next to the hotel.
I would recommend it just for a night.
Located 100m from the Canal and Les Halles. We were pleased with our greeting and the friendly staff. Restaurants and attractions are a short walk away. Recommend this hotel and Narbonne.
Loved the hotel! Beautiful, great food and wine selection (chef from Argentina). The pool is really a real pool, and the patio is super relaxing. Great staff.
