Beautiful historic city.
Beautiful historic city. We were just passing through, but discovered a really picturesque town to which we would gladly return.
Off season for us, so the castle only had restricted opening hours, but the walk around the outside was more than adequate. Plenty of free parking around town.

Lots of fantastic views and old stone buildings. A well signed posted walking route covers all the places of interest in an easy way. Still worth visiting in depths of winter. There are also usual shops and lots of creperies - maybe not a huge choice in winter, but even on a late Sunday evening we got a meal.

The town isn't big so a couple of nights would be enough. We went to a wonderful restaurant. Walked the town walk. Enjoyed the gardens. The castle is a must see and very informative. We wish the theatre has been showing something as it's such a grand building.
We stayed here for 1 night after a visit to Mont Saint Michel. Location was handy for a 1 night stay and the price more competitive than hotels closer to the Mont Saint Michel . The room was basic but clean and spacious. Fougères is a lovely town, worth to explore on arrival or the next day.
Lucille was super accommodating, allowing us flexibility in checking in and using the sauna on the evening of our arrival. The hotel is beautifully decorated, and our room had a generous view of beautiful Fougères. Breakfast was simple but tasty. Thank you for a lovely stay!
The hostess was lovely and ready to oblige at any moment. Parking was free nearby which was a bonus. We appreciated the larger bed and access to fridge and kitchen. The location was very quiet and not far from the gardens and castle. The supermarket was also close by.
Excellent breakfast, amazing variety of good quality food. Lovely helpful staff at reception as well as in the breakfast room. Clean, comfortable room. Great location. Parking easy. Highly recommend if you are staying in Fougeres. Really good value as well.
