We opt to stop here for safety and comfort. There are no staff which enables you to come and go at your leisure. We are aware this property has recently been taken over. The new carpets, furniture and additional mini fridge were very appreciated.

Disgusted with taxi service.
Disgusted with taxi service.
The taxi service in Arras does not do justice to this lovely town.
There were no taxis when I arrived at the station.
Staff at the station called for a taxi and I was told that a taxi would be there in 30 minutes.
I waited 40 minutes, but no taxi arrived.
A local woman helped me to make another call to the taxi company using the number displayed at the station. She was told to call the other displayed number. It did not pick-up.
I was stuck. I'm in my seventies with a minor disability and I had luggage. I was unable to walk into the town centre pulling my suitcase over cobblestones.

A great base for Visiting the surrounding battlefields and cemeteries/ museums etc,but you need a car. The main centre of Arras has all the old buildings and historic squares, these come alive in the evening with the cafe's and restaurants filling up.

Arras has a unique charm of its own not only as being the oldest documentary attested city of France but also as a special mixture of historical sites and the modernity of the urban ambiance. Pages of history come to life when you do not expect. And there's also the friendly people there. The atmosphere of the two Places, le Beffroi in the historical center of the city are marvellous. If you fancy a thrill just go on a guided tour ...under the city to see the tunnels where soldiers organised their life an fights in the WWI. And there's much more. If you don't rush.

We stayed near two large town squares with loads of bars / cafes / restaurants both surrounded by wonderful architecture. We felt safe and walked back to our accommodation without any fears for our safety. It was May day and we were not sure if many places would be open but it was packed. They were tidying up a market when we arrived so we missed that but would definitely come back again, maybe for a few more days. Not sure about public transport and outside of the area we stayed in, but very pleased with our random choice.

We love Arras.
We love Arras. It's a shame we only ever stay enroute while travelling to the South of France. We've decided that we will make a proper holiday in the city in the future and take time to enjoy this vibrant place, as well as exploring the history and the WW1 battlefields.
easy to get to, 5 minute walk to the city centre, we traveled to Arras by motorcycle parking underneath the hotel excellent, entrance to car park is out side the front of hotel, clean and well maintained hotel, friendly staff
Bed, bed linen, location, parking, security, well-equipped kitchen, nice host. Good stopover for travelling further into France. Arras is worth a longer stay.
