Good equipped studio style room, with fridge, microwave, coffee maker and kettle. Comfortable beds and personal sauna is a top pick. Nice restaurant with pleasant atmosphere and friendly staff. The place for bike storage is also quite big with electric plug to charge ebike. Very tasty pancakes for breakfast, and in general good selection of meal, almost.

The nature and activities for all ages were great.
The nature and activities for all ages were great. Beautiful place to rest and recharge and to be at peace. We stayed in a log cabin and prepared our meals by ourselves, but there were several places to eat in at the Ruka centre if preferred.

Great place in winter wonderland.
Great place in winter wonderland. While the hill is not particularly high, the ski is great and geared mostly towards beginner and intermediate skiers. Great cross-country skiing as well.
Ruka village is lively and with good selection of bars and restaurants.

Compact and convenient for most things.
Compact and convenient for most things. Skiiers used to Alpine ski resorts will find it small but it has good snow and being amongst trees is lovely. Bear in mind that beginners wanting the easiest slopes should be at the Valley side not the Village side or else you'll need to bus/gondola across.

I was in the summer.... which is still not too warm... so take that in to consideration.
There are TONS of mosquitoes, you wouldn't believe, but still the area is beautiful and the things to is basically kayaking, hiking or just relaxing. you must have a car to get around and it's better to purchase food and cook for yourself where you stay.

Ruka is a great family resort.
Ruka is a great family resort. A winter paradise with cross country skiing and downhill skiing available. There is also a ski school. I recommend staying in Ruka village side rather than Ruka valley side.
Ice slide onto small frozen lake was super popular with my kids as well as watching the ski jumping.
Highly recommend the ski school and Lammintupa for reindeer and husky adventures.
Amazing location in the middle of nowhere, yet easily accessible from Ruka.
Clean and tidy room, comfy bed and obviously wonderful views. Friendly staff, everything went smoothly.
We had dinner at the restaurant, the 3 course dinner was very tasty and atmosphere in the restaurant was romantic and intimate. Breakfast was great, not the biggest selection but definitely fresh and good quality.
Overall this truly was a magical place.
The cabin was large with plenty of room, good wifi, and at a lovely location right on the lake. The built-in sauna was a real plus! The host provided plenty of detail on where the cabin was and how to access the key lockbox. We stayed in off season so not much open in Ruka but we had a car and finding food, etc was not a problem. Oulanka National Park is just 30 minutes up the road. Would definitely stay here again.
Lovely little log cabin a very short slide on skis to the slopes! Great quiet location in Ruka Valley. Lovely skiing and fantastic coming home to a hot sauna! 100% would stay again. Couldn't ask for more from a log cabin in the Finnish woods.
Luxury apartment with very quiet environment and great cenery. Only 1.2 km from Ruka village, our children walked that distance with snowboards. We travel to Ruka > 8 times/ year and I can say this was the best apartment so far.
Location was peaceful on the quiet side of the Ruka ski resort complex. The view was great and the space was cozy and compact. The wooden log house had a great feeling to it. The fireplace added great atmosphere.
