We chose this hotel to visit Jyvaskyla - Mattilanniemi Parkrun!! Head across the square and you can get to Parkrun Saturday mornings by lakeside walking/cycling path. This is very convenient location for coach / train travellers, just across the bridge over the railway tracks and you're there! Amazing, we loved it as we arrived late from the airport by train, in -12 temperatures.
We booked a double with SAUNA (absolute bliss) and next room for teenage kids. This wasn't the cheapest option, but it was truly wonderful.
The rooms were clean and stylish, and the sauna room had coffee maker and some complimentary soft drinks in the mini bar. The sauna is easy to use and surprisingly large :D The breakfast was served until 12 noon on a Saturday morning, which was perfect after parkrun!! The breakfast is amazing, with lots of sweet bakes and all the usual savoury options, like Karelia pies, eggs, bacon, sausages, etc, but they also serves some special extras like smoked salmon, and Finnish seasonal delicacies as it was xmas vacation; we enjoyed riisipuuro (rice pudding) and joulutorttu (xmas pastries).
Cannot wait to be back soon!

The room that I got in the end was nice and clean and fresh. It was 24/7 open so with dogs (dogs cost 20€ per night) it was good to have the possibility to go out for late night or ealry morning walk. The parkinglot was behind the hotel (upper lever biside the hotel) with dorect entry to hotel (althouh reseption is on ground floor). Parking is possible to pay in hotel or in parkinglot by app (make sure its not cheaper with app). Breakfast was mediocre.

Jyvastyla was a great surprise, we visited the Aalto museum, which was excellent. We walk to the University of Jyvaskyla, very impressive and beautiful. We could walk in to the lecture halls, libraries, class rooms. Many restaurants and cafes.
I would go back once more to see the city center and galleries.

The right season needs to be chosen to visit this town.
The right season needs to be chosen to visit this town. I'd recommend late spring, summer or early autumn. But not December. January and February might work only if you're coming here for skiing. There are not much entertainings, mostly just stores and restaurants in the downtown, prices in groceries might be even higher than in Helsinki. People are friendly, surprisingly a lot of teenagers. Staying here for one night is enough to see harbour, observation tower, central square and church, couple of local museums, stores and restaurants. Can recommend Verona pizzeria, great pizza, kebab and pasta, decent prices, location in the centre, and Haiku sushi, with good selection of sushi and friendly owner! You can just walk around, no need fir public transportation, it will take 5 minutes to get to the centre from the railway station.
It was the second hotel I tried in Finland and, just like the first one, everything was fantastic. The room was VERY clean, equipped with a coffee machine + kettle, the bed very comfortable, the sheets great. Several pillows of several dimensions, so the guest can choose whatever suits them best. It was easy to find and had a great underground parking which, in -34 degrees C, was most welcome. Most importantly, the staff was very kind to my dog :) The restaurant onsite, an Italian trattoria, was also quite nice.
It was great that they were flexible with me arriving earlier and option to leave the car at the property as well as having the car there still on the day of the congress I visited when I checked out already in the morning. Nice that there was sauna turn and also option to buy a coffee in the common facilities when the restaurant was no longer open. Great location right next to the cross country skiing tracks. I will book here again when I am visiting Jyväskylä congress next time in winter.
The Scandic Station (not to be mixed up with other Scandics in Jyväskylä) is newly renovated and has good price for the standard. The room "Standard Family Three" was spacious for two.
The breakfast was very good. Wide variety (especially of bread), very attentive staff.
The location five minutes by foot from the station and close to the pedestrian area is perfect.
When we stayed at a clearly more expensive hotel in Helsinki we missed the Scandic Station.
A cheap room in an outdoor hostel, I recommend for a short stay. Very nice sauna included in the price. Good laundry facilities. Nice full body mirror in the room. Fridge in the room, though there could have been one in the kitchen too. Right next to various outdoor activities, adventure park, downhill skiing, jogging paths, hiking... the fireplace room was nice, though it would also have been nice to have had the option to actually use the fireplace.
Made a reservation for a room for two in assumption that bed would be big enough, but unfortunately it wasn’t. Luckily there was a bigger room available with bigger room with bigger bed with small additional price which was acceptable, so all went well and enjoyed our trip. Would visit again. - Unfortunately did not visit the hotel restaurant, but would would visit gladly in next visit as all seemed good. Recommended!
This is our 2nd time staying here and it was as lovely as the first time. The hostess is really friendly and easy to communicate with. The place is cosy and comfortable. It feels like living in your home with hotel service. Susanna provides amenities beyond the norm to ensure your stay is comfortable, cosy and convenient. Thank you again for hosting us in your lovely apartment.
Location is the best in Jyväskylä.
Breakfast is Finnish, its more personal than in most of the hotels. I think the breakfast is a good reason to stay in Verso.
Rooms are nice. This time I got superior room, which was quite big. Beds are excellent!
Safety is big enough for computer.
Great amenities, fantastic Wi-Fi, very comfortable bed, very good light shielding (very important for Jyväskylän summer nights when it never gets dark), everything necessary (and beyond necessary) was in the apartment, the host is responsive and helpful.
The apartment is spacious, and especially the kitchen is well equipped. Convenient location close to the train and bus station, Jyväskylä’s main event venues and downtown. I was also happy to receive thorough check-in instructions well beforehand!
Yöpuu is a kind of dream place for me. I have been there once earlier, in the midst of a heavy work task and everything was great even then. This time I knew what to expect - and your hotel exceeded all the expectations. Thank you so much.
It is a great hotel. Without it being a pretentious establishment, it lacks absolutely nothing. Great staff, sparkling clean rooms, all the facilities one needs, comfortable beds, great location in the city center.
Despite its Finnish Brutalist architecture, this is a very good hotel: the spa and saunas in particular are excellent. Breakfast was good and plenty of room in the dining area.
The hotel itself is great! Clean, very comfort, excellent check in experience, cheap one day parking fee (8 euros), dedicated staffs and new room. Breakfast is ok.
