We have been staying at this Hotel for the past 15 years, on the way to our holiday home on the Costa del Sol, but as the property is now been sold sadly this will be our last visit.
Over the past 4 years we had seen a decline in the service provided, but we're pleased that this year we saw a vast improvement of the service, espically in the bar, where they had a good choice of food available throughout the day.
We hope this high standard will continue

This hotel looked newly renovated. There were new wooden floors and brand new furniture. The bathroom with a large shower cubicle looked clean and shining. The bidet was shining but the gaps for my feet looked too small..
There was continental breakfast and the breakfast room door opened at 7.00am prompt.
This hotel was difficult to find but Zamora Rd gave a good direction. Its just that the village had three areas, an industrial area (1st area located) 2nd area main village (told) to follow bus . 3rd area (by football stadium true other side of motorway. The map was kind of right but I was thinking the hotel was in industrial estate on the road to zamora on way to Salamanca town centre. There is a bus stop nearby. There is a frequent bus service to town centre. The hotel has ample car parking spaces.

We were travelling from the Algarve to Santander to catch the ferry to UK. This was a perfect place to stopover as it was about 2/3rds of the journey. We set off mid morning, arriving around 1900, in time to relax with a drink on the lovely terrace before dinner in the dungeons (excellent meal - best to book your table online with the castle directly). After a leisurely breakfast, it was an easy 3.5 hour drive to Santander to catch the afternoon ferry.

An excellent mid point stop between The Algarve and Santander The dinner was truly memorable in a beautiful dining room, so lack of fellow diners was a bit of a mystery. The castle itself was of considerable interest.

Food is excveptional - the breakfast buffet was superb and the restaurant evening meals were superb. All I would say for non Spanish is, after a long day of travel, the evening meals do not start until 8.30, so we have stayed twice now and were too tired to enjoy the superb food on the dinner menu and give it the credit it deserves. I do not know whether the hotel would consider for travellers that are tired to open the restaurant at 7pm for hungry travellers, would be great?
Simply stunning hotel in the countryside outside of Salamanca. The castle has been lovingly restored, with excellent attention to detail. The staff are attentive and courteous. Plenty of space to exercise the dog, being able to see the horses was a bonus. The pool is a real asset in the heat of the summer, with a great view up to the castle. Good food & wine. Would highly recommend for a short-break, or, as we did, as a stop en route to/from Portugal.
This was our second visit to the hotel and decided to stay for 2 nights on our journey back to Santander. The place is fantastic and the setting and views are wonderful. We had a walk round the grounds and looked at the vineyards. The room was very nice and the food in the restaurant very good, we had wine from there own vineyard and was excellent. They even prepared an early breakfast as we were leaving early before the restaurant opened.
Very impressive castle, if your a resident you can walk everywhere, highly recommended and we will definitely stay again, Restaurant was excellent and wine list was good too
We travelled with dogs so I understand from the hotels perspective dogs can't stay in inner part however we booked a superior room and we got nice apartment on the ground floor at the side, bathroom was downstairs and the bedroom upstairs
The hotel upgraded us to a superior courtyard room which was lovely. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We had an evening meal in the restaurant and it was one of the best meals we have ever had, we wished we could have stayed longer to try more of the menu. Absolutely delicious. We also loved the wine that had been made there. Stunning location.
This imposing hotel was easily found close to but hidden from the main highway. Large comfortable room with access from outside. The staff were friendly and helpful. A tour inside the castle revealed many unusual and sometimes frightening interesting features. The rack of lamb was wonderful.
Fabulous place to stay and the cost is very reasonable for the uniqueness, comfort, and excellent staff. The breakfast buffet was wonderful as was the view around the castle. The hotel has also taken extraordinary measures for cleanliness and safety. Highly recommend.
An amazing, beautiful, building that is so well cared for with an obvious passion from the staff. Our room was spacious and comfortable and a lovely bar and restaurant. We came upon this hotel by chance but would definitely recommend it and would love to return.
Gorgeous room, large and very comfortable. Location and surrounding countryside beautiful, with plenty of space to walk the dog. The hotel has so much character and history.
It is an incredible place, hard to believe you can stay in such a wonderful place for the cost of a hotel room. Moving around the castle rooms and patios blows you away
