Very nice Casa Rural with beautiful views of the Duero from the balcony on the top floor. Directly past the house is a beautiful hiking trail, which we followed to the dam and then went back via the Sendero de Almandres. Good starting point to visit various bodegas and Salamanca and Valladolid.
The house itself is tastefully renovated and nicely furnished. The beds were comfortable. The kitchen is equipped with really everything you need and charcoal is also provided if you want to grill.
To keep the numerous flies out, it is recommended to always keep the fly screens closed and bring a fly swatter. Throughout Castronuño there are so-called bodegas - underground cellars where people probably like to barbecue. In the bodega next to us they especially liked to grill, which you could smell from the chimney right next to the house. You should therefore keep the windows closed when you explore the area during the day. Otherwise it did not bother us. Everything is very clean. There were dogs in the neighborhood, but they hardly bothered us at night. We enjoyed the quiet surroundings very much. At night you can always hear owls and if you are lucky, you can also watch them flying.
All in all, we felt very comfortable in the house.
