Teruel once began a campaign ‘Teruel Exists’ because of its remote location and the fact it so often overlooked despite being an administrive capital for the southern Aragon region. I can categorically state that it does exist after spending an all too brief night there on a cycling tour.
It is a stunning city built on a hill with an incredible rich history. The Mudejar Towers are mind-blowing and the old steps and narrow alleys of the town are steeped in history. Teruel is famous for ham with many restaurants offering the finest cuts. Valencia is on the train line so that’s also a good combination and a stunning ride if you take that journey. I did it by bike !

The experience was tainted by the fact that we arrived the day after their 3 day festival ! As a result a lot of the restaurants were closed. The city itself has a lot of outstanding buildings but it really doesn’t have too much else to justify a stop of more than one day. Great tapas in La Barrica at lunch time.

Teruel is an old historical city, people lived there since the first age DC.
It has an old center of town that can be visited on foot without too much problems. The old city center is protected as a historical place and well kept, you can see that they do a lot of effort to maintain it in its original state. We visited the Provincial Museo, is worth to see how people lived there in the last 21 centuries.

Teruel is a pretty little town steeped in history. We only stayed one night as we were travelling but intend to come back.
The town has many restaurants and bars as well as a range of shops, it was at the centre of the Spanish Civil war so if you're interested in this type of thing there are many things to see.

I needed a night stop on journey from ferry to my home on Costa Blanca. I have visited Teruel before and it was a convenient place for a night stop.
It is a very interesting town, full of history, wonderful architecture, one of the best ethnographic museums, as well as churches. Lots of excellent restaurants and good hotels.
Good for skiing in the winter, if you do that - I don’t!!!

The hotel was on the edge of the centre.
The hotel was on the edge of the centre. The staff and hotel was fantastic, and having private parking was a bonus.
The town was easy to tour on foot and lots of bars and restaurants to visit.
Would recommend the hotel and Teruel
Good location, good price. Automated Self check in and out if staff not there. Car parking nearby but you can park for free overnights near Estacion Teruel , which was safe and lots of cars left there, just remember it’s up a very steep hill 100 metres to where hotel is but there is a public lift in Castle walls, near the “ Ornate steps”
Friendly welcome, and directions given to free parking by the railway station. Family-run hotel with comfortable room and great breakfast. You can visit the secret tunnel under the hotel at certain times. Excellent location near the amazing Escalinata (there is a lift too). interesting church next-door has an unusual Mudejar interior.
Hotel right in the center of Teruel. Lobby is on the first floor and we had our bicycles with us but that wasn’t a problem as we put them in the elevator and could place them in a corner in the lobby. Big bedroom with big bathroom. Everything was clean but it’s not brand new. Would stay here again as overal excellent experience.
Had a quick breakfast nearby in Graniers deli.
The Hotel Isabel Segura is a good place to stay because the staff are friendly and efficient. The area is a nice one in a plsasant community with schools,a hospital and many shops.
It is a short walk to central Teruel and the hotel has excellent safe parking in a locked yard.
This was a magnificent hotel . Beautiful room and comfy bed . Location was the best and parking was easy to use ( lifting system ) Get to hotel and park and they will tell you how to get to parking around corner . Staff were helpful and friendly. Breakfast was the best we’ve had while travelling in Spain - delicious
The apartment was beautiful in a fantastic location just outside the overpass bridge to get into the town, in the opposit direction was the more modern part of town so from one location you were able to see both parts of Teruel. The heated floors made it extremely comfortable.
Lovely , clean, new and very modern place in the middle of historic centre. Some elements of the apartment are actually parts of the most famous tower of Teruel ( the museum is on the other side of the street). Great restaurants around, 1 minute walk from the main square.
The apartment was very quaint, comfortable and all facilities we needed. Lovely views. Short walk into the town centre. We arrived unexpectedly early but the owner was really helpful, gave us the keys and guided us to nearby parking.
Very clean hotel and helpful staff. We could stay in the attic, which was just great with a perfect view and very spacious.
Location is great, right in the middle of the center. Parking is free and close by at the station.
We loved this hotel and we loved Teruel. It was comfortable and convenient, with good parking. The staff were fabulous. Great location. Teruel is such a lovely town to visit. Don't miss it.
A great location on our long drive to Southern Spain. Easy to park and they are happy to store our bicycles in a safe room.
Always warm and comfortable with friendly staff.
It was in the perfect location in the heart of Teruel. It is an older building but everything in Teruel is older and that added even more to its charm.
