We did not have breakfast, since we left early and it wasn’t included. Nice cheap suite for ourselves and friendly staff.
With a picturesque setting by the Sella River, Hotel Santa Cruz is 25 km from Asturia's coastline and a 2-minute walk from Cangas de Onís' famous Roman bridge. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout.

We liked the proximity of the village of Soto de Cangas to Cangas de Onis which is a pleasant, attractive town, easy to access by car. You can also walk into Cangas along the river and this is 2 - 3 miles. Taxis are reasonable. Soto de Cangas is quite near to the pilgrimage site of Covadonga with its beautiful cathedral, caves and access to beautiful mountain lakes and walks. There are a few restaurants in Soto de Cangas but it is only a fairly small place and we didn't see any shops although there are plenty in Cangas de Onis.
Amazing breakfast (for Spanish standards) with scrambled eggs and a big buffet! Room was super clean and owner speaks English - what else to wish for? :) It is close enough to ride for a sunrise to Lagos de Covadongas, do the circuit around both lakes and get back to the hotel for late hours of breakfast (been here in July & definitely recommend) - that was a perfect start of a day! :)
The staff was absolutely wonderful, very warm hospitable and welcoming. They made us a large pot of tea when we arrived and left us a pot for next day. Breakfast was good and the ruler architect of hotel was very characterful. Very peaceful and translucent, could hear the relaxing sound of river from bedroom window
Couldn’t have been more pleased with our stay! The rooms are simple but clean with fantastic views of the surrounding peaks. The food was delicious, many options for even us picky eaters and at a good price. The people who staff the hotel were the best, so helpful and kind. We only wish we could’ve stayed longer!
It is a great location to visit Pico de Europa, specially hiking from Covadonga Lakes, Poncebos (Ruta de Cares), as well as rio Sella. The hotel has a restaurant, and there are also lots of other options within walking distance.
I want to rate it 3 star hotel since beds are so comfortable. The host is very nice lady, she put a lot of effort in this little house, well decorated, home feeling. She also came early for preparing breakfast.
The family running the hotel took extra care to make sure guests were taken care of. The homemade jams & bizcocho for breakfast were an extra touch that makes a nice detail!
Large comfortable room BUT it was not in Casa Ortiz! We found out when we arrived that we had been transferred to a nearby hotel. There was nobody at Casa Ortiz.
