The room we were given was very large, with a separate bedroom and bathroom. The rooms seem to be well-soundproofed. The beds were firm and comfortable. Everywhere was very clean and tidy. The food offered on the buffet for breakfast and evening meal was very good, with a wide range of options, for those with no food-related disorders. We were especially impressed by the service of Amadou, the chef, who ensured that I had gluten-free desserts, and Francisco, the waiter, who made sure that I had gluten-free options for breakfast.
The hotel is close to a nice stretch of beach, with a lot of open leisure areas - about 5 minutes walk away. There are a few small shops and restaurants within 10 minutes walk. A car is essential to see the nearby region. Overall, we enjoyed our stay in this hotel, and would use it again if ever staying in the area.
The luxurious Hotel Cabogata Jardín is located next to El Toyo Beach and offers spacious rooms with a private balcony. The hotel features an outdoor pool.

Breakfast was nice with plenty of choices. The pool is probably the best part of the hotel. There is nice slide and small kids dedicated area. Also there were some activities in the pool for adults. There are lifeguards in the swimming pool as well.

The kindness and friendliness of the owners. I was stranded in Almeria, my plane having been diverted there during a storm. The family members I was due to meet in Malaga had been diverted to Madrid. I booked the apartment close to midnight, in a storm which meant very few taxis. I informed the owners of my situation and they picked me up and delivered me to the apartment and ensured I had something to eat. They went above and beyond anyone’s expectations. The property was perfect, in a beautiful location on a golf resort and such value for money. I wish I’d had chance to spend longer there!

Retamar is really just a characterless housing estate, primarily built for holidaymakers. However, it does front a pleasant stretch of coastline, with beaches and lots of open areas with seating, and some suitable for leisure activities. There are a couple of clusters of bar/restaurants and small supermarkets, but there is no main town centre. However, it is an ideal touring base for Almeria city and the Cabo de Gata National Park as long as you have a car. We were unable to find any available tourist information at the hotel or in the surrounding streets, so you need to have a map or knowledge of the area on arrival.
We were disappointed that the Cabo de Gata was so strewn with plastic and polystyrene waste, and that the lagoon had shrunk to a much smaller size, now well away from the boundary fence - so you need to have binoculars with you if you want to watch the flamingos etc.

Built around the golf course, Retamar is clean and tidy for a tourist town. There are plenty of restaurants and bars, with the food on offer being typical of what most tourist want. If yo are driving you’ll need a GPS because there aren’t many distinctive landmarks. The access to the airport and surrounding places of interest is easy.

What I liked very much was there was an outdoor gym equipment in the park for anyone to use free only a a minutes walk from the property. There are also very nice walking areas along great dedicated cycle roads. There is a golf course close by as well. The beach and promenade are only 5 minutes walk along with a super market, bars and restaurants.
Everything was lovely and clean .The bed was very large and comfortable .The hotel was busy ,although at night it was very quiet and peaceful .I had the best sleep I've had for ages .The aircon worked well .It's 10.15 a.m. at present and not one towel on the sun beds like lots of hotels I've stayed at before , and it's a lovely sunny day .The food was very good catering for everyone .I have enjoyed my stay so I have booked for next year .
The property was excellent with both a large balcony with table & chairs & an enormous private roof terrace with loungers & parasol. Good location with underground parking. Retamar itself is small with just a few restaurants but great access to both Almeria & the national park. Be aware that the pool is only open for the main summer months despite temperatures above 30c.
I was a business traveller staying for 2 nights. The hotel was full of mainly retired Scandinavian tourists. Breakfast and dinner were buffet style. The restaurant staff seemed to 'forget' about single guests. Car parking on site is expensive €15/night but there is plenty of on-street parking that is OK. Didn't get chance to use the hotel facilities or the beaches.
The room itself was great, decoration, design, space, the view, the balcony. Everything was great about the room. The lobby, the entrance, and the external area was also very beautiful, the location is great too. There are free parking on the hotel street and around, you just have to find a spot. Wifi was also great and free.
Beautiful and comfortable small apartment for solo travellers or a couple.
Everything you need plus the sun terraces overlooking the golf course are an extra.
Within walking distance of beach, bars and cafes.
Great alternative to a hotel.
Breakfast and dinner were both very good with a nice selection of food. Free parking in front of hotel, Friendly and helpful receptionists, we arrived a little earlier than planned but our room was ready for us.
Beautiful resort hotel. The rooms were large and the beds very comfortable. The views from the room were gorgeous. The breakfast Buffett was incredible with so many things to choose from and so good!
Beautiful clean hotel. Very big. Staff very helpful and friendly. Lovely pools and right on the beach.
Lovely spacious room( free upgrade via Booking.com).
Bath and shower absolutely amazing
A great hotel! The location was perfect. The breakfast was amazing. The amenities of the hotel are great. the pool fantastic. The kids club super fun. A great place for families.
Comfortable beds and pillows, which was important as in most hotels, the pillows are too thick and too hard. The breakfast buffet was great. Free parking outside the hotel.
Very nice hotel. Great breakfast, helpful and friendly staff. The hotel let us store our bicycle bags in a secure place. The evening buffet dinner is also good.
