We came to stay at the Aparthotel Cal Marcal as we had a friends wedding in the area. The property was very clean with a nice pool and was a comfortable walk into town. The staff were so kind, helpful and attentive. It’s a small local hotel and had a lovely restaurant attached - it feels very welcoming. There’s a couple of great restaurants in town also and Puig Reig is a perfect area for wildlife walks and a proper hiking holiday…Even more reason to visit and stay at this very nice hotel!

Sergio the host could not have been more friendly and helpful. He explained everything about the apartment which was wonderful,a lovely log fire too. I could not have been happier. A nice, peaceful location. Bring your own groceries if eating in as there are no shops in the village.

great castle location, rooms are good but nothing fancy , views are incredible at the top of the Castle, nearby you have Cardona village so you can find 2 x good restaurants at the main plein, not lux but very good and cheap on price

The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful, and the facilities are very clean and well-maintained. The only 2 small drawbacks: the beds may be a bit on the shorter side for tall travelers 180+cm and as with many hostels (and hotels), the walls can be thin. If you're a light sleeper and have noisy neighbors, you might bring earplugs.

Lovely location in a small town. Beautiful building and clean. Decor was tasteful. Beds were comfy. Staff very helpful and friendly. Everything in walking distance. Although the hotel has pool we used the communal pool which you have to pay but worth it. Honesty fridge with stocked drinks was helpful. Fantastic area where we were the only British people.
This has to be the best hostal we ever stayed at. Hostal price with hotel quality accommodation. Classic language barrier not a problem, the owner (I think!) was friendly and jovial and we had fun trying to figure out what was what with very little common words!!
