Due to the remote location we had a lot of peace and privacy. The room was very nice and colorfully furnished, suitable for Spain. The room facilities were very good and we had everything we needed. I particularly liked the pool, which we could use at any time. Josèe and her husband were very nice and always tried to make us feel completely comfortable. The entrance to the house is a bit rocky, so you should have a suitable car. We could easily park our car in front of the house and had a free parking space. We enjoyed sitting and having breakfast on the terrace in front of our room.

My stay at the Finca La Piedra was perfect for what I was looking for on my trip to Alora. Jane was the perfect host and a vital source of information for a non Spanish speaker. Furthermore the duck eggs as a 'welcome pack' tasted amazing.
The property is slightly remote - so if you're not prepared to walk or don't have your own vehicular transport, that could be a problem.
Very pretty 'Spanish' village outside of Malaga. Shops and bars, though I struggled to find any of the plentiful bars serving food, and had to resort to supermarket shopping for snacks. Probably due to the time of year though. I'm sure it'd be much livelier in summer. Has municipal pool, and - I believe - direct transport to Malaga. There's a hostel, and a couple of villa rentals, but not sure that there are any hotels.
Our second stay at the the property (we went for first time last year), and we had the perfect time. Near to the town of Pizarra and its supermarkets and a few bars, the finca works well for a weeks stay with friends and family. The finca is clean and comfortable, and isolated enough to make you feel you are away from everything. There were 12 of us and it all worked very well. The pool is very nice and was used every day.
