Hotel Elcano is very well placed - at the lovely road just a few mins from nice and clean beach, with restaurants and cafes. There is fantastic transport as well - the bus stop in just in the front of hotel and you have 3 buses going to the Malaga centre about 15-20mins. There is a big Carrefour in walking distance (10-15mins), however it's better to take the bus for 2 stops when you're coming back with heavy shopping. Hotel Elcano is very clean, staff is kind, although sometimes not speaking English :) Our room was very small and we couldn't change it as hotel was fully booked, however, as we're leaving in the morning and coming back late evening, it was not a problem.. Especially that we had fantastic huge and very comfy bed, as well as good bathroom with amazing shower (great water temperature to set up easily and water pressure like in my dreams!). Overall, it's very good relation of price to the quality, we absolutely recommend it!

This a brand new hotel and was very clean. The bed was really big and comfortable. The outside back garden area was clean with nice seating and loungers. The staff were amazingly helpful and always greeting us with a smile. They looked after our luggage until it was time to check in as we arrived early. There was free tea and coffee on the first floor which was a nice touch. The swimming pool near the entrance was clean . It is very close to the beach taking about five minutes or less to get down there. It is close to coach and bus stops and we arrived there by coach from Nerja. Our flight home was not until 11pm so they let us check out but stay in the back garden until it was time for us to go to the airport which we really appreciated. Overall it was a nice experience the only thing that put us off was the very thin walls in our room and the very small bathroom.

This is an exceptional location. Close to the marina, beach, parks, old town and main shopping streets. The hotel is a standard city centre size with a good breakfast. It is perfect for a short stay. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful.

The staff were excellent, really helpful. Breakfast was also very good with a lot of choice. Hot scrambled eggs plus fresh orange juice. However the room was not so good, on the 1st floor with a balcony which looked out onto a brick wall! Three single beds squashed into a double room. Very dated bathroom with a shower over the bath which was very difficult to get in and out of. I think as we were only staying 2 nights we were given this room. The location of the hotel was great, 5 minutes to the beach and 20 minutes walk into Málaga old town. I would stay again but in a different room.
