FAQs about hotels in Nerja
On average, 3-star hotels in Nerja cost £100 per night, and 4-star hotels in Nerja are £135 per night. If you're looking for something really special, a 5-star hotel in Nerja can on average be found for £73 per night (based on Booking.com prices).
With whitewashed houses perched on rocky cliffs backed by the Sierra de Burno mountains, Nerja certainly has a picturesque setting. Other than from a boat, the best place to admire it is the so-called Balcony of Europe, a viewing platform overlooking the rugged coastline and turquoise waters.
Below the platform is a panoramic restaurant, and there are more restaurants and shops in the narrow town centre streets, as you would expect of a Costa del Sol resort. However, Nerja’s distinct character differentiates it from the high-rise resorts. Its relaxed feel and Blue Flag beaches attract families, and there are good diving spots off neighbouring Maro.
The town is spread over hills, and below one just outside town the Nerja Caves stretch for over 5 km. Concerts are held in one cavernous chamber.
A 19th-century, multi-level aqueduct spans a gorge to the east, while to the west the Rio Chillar cuts through rocks to form a waterfall. The nearby donkey sanctuary also houses the occasional other farmyard animal. Dating back to the 17th century is the Hermitage of Las Angustias, and El Salvador Church is on a square looking out to sea.
Booking.com’s Nerja accommodation includes luxury beach hotels, guest houses with pools, and cheap apartments with parking – particularly handy if you arrive by car from Málaga Airport.

It was our first stay in Spain and really enjoyable. Nerja is a lovely town and easy to walk around, although it is a little hilly. There are lots of restaurants and bars there, so lots of food and drink options and the ones we ate in on our trip were all good value.

Well- it is nice. Nice nature, nice view.
Well- it is nice. Nice nature, nice view. Nice beaches - if you don't mind the stones. There are no sand-beaches.
Restaurants are meh - but so is a lot in Spain. They do their tapas and their paella, yes, but on top of that: don't expect anything too fancy.
Also do not expect places with a lot of sophistication, like a bar with a cigar lounge. You don't find something like that in Malaga or Granada - I visited boths - either.
But what I, as someone born in Germany, can't get over with: everything is completely and utterly chaotic and unreliable. People drive like crazy. Busses come or don't come. Stores open or don't open at the indicated hours. People speak very little English, even Airport staff.
Seeing that, it becomes very clear to me why the Spanish economy is doing so badly for so many years now.
It all somehow works. But you need to rely on your own means of transportation and organization, if you need to be somewhere on time. Like to catch your flight.
If you are OK with the above, yes, I can recommend it.

In my opinion Nerja is a lovely town and resort.
In my opinion Nerja is a lovely town and resort. Attracts Tourism but still retains its Spanish - ness. Plenty to see and do, beatiful scenery and several beaches - Maybe not the wild nightlife of some other resorts like Benidorm and Torremolinos, but people don't go to Nerja for that. It would be hard to find a bad Restaurant or Tapas Bar, they are all excellent!

Been visiting Nerja for years now and always love it there.
Been visiting Nerja for years now and always love it there. Great around the Balcon with plenty of bars/cafes/restaurants to choose from. Lovely streets for lazy strolls or shopping and various beaches to soak up the summer sun. Good vibes day and night throughout the resort.
the Hotel was just perfect. Located close to the centre of Nerja but a couple of minutes from the Bus Stops. There was a lovely roof top space where we had our breakfast and one evening brought our dinner to the roof and had a bottle of wine viewing the night sky. The host was extremely friendly and very helpful. The room was very comfortable and cleaned every day. There was a kettle in the roof. It is just as very short walk to a supermarket that had everything you could need.
Amber and Julian are amazing people. They were helpful and always there to help. We spontaneously decided to stay in Nerja from our impromptu trip from Malaga and were so glad that we stayed with them. The hotel is so well equipped and gives you good vibes. The beds are so damn comfortable and you dont feel like getting up. We kind of felt that we should have stayed with them longer, but definitely would do it next time.
My stay at the hotel in Nerja was nothing short of fantastic. The location was superb, offering an easy access to the town's attractions. The staff went above and beyond, providing exceptional service with a genuine smile.
The room was not only comfortable but also impeccably clean, reflecting a high standard of hospitality. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Nerja for a delightful and memorable stay.
This is nice place for small group of family and friends. It’s so close to everything you need to visit in Nerja. Few steps away is beach site. There’s hop on and off train can bring you to Nerja cave historical sites. There are many good restaurants nearby for providing different options. The owner even offered coffee pods, tea bag, candy and cookies during our stay. They’re all tasty!
Nice comfortable sunny apartment. The view from the patio was amazing, full sunshine all day long with ocean view . Kitchen was very well stocked for cooking. Very quiet area. Good distance from center and grocery store if you do not have a car but bus stop close, 200 meter walk (1euro) will get you there. Nerja is an amazing town, do not miss the Cuevas!
This hotel is only good for its breakfast and location although overpriced. If you want to go to the city centre of Nerja it's right outside of the entrance. If you want to go to the beach you simply take the elevator down. This hotel is good for someone who wants everything as close as possible such as my 70 year old mother. Breakfast is good too.
Lovely hotel in a great location in the centre of Nerja. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The hotel is exceptionally clean. Check in was so simple and efficient. They ordered a taxi for our return trip to airport which arrived spot on time. This was our second time to stay at this hotel.
The location of the hotel is great, the bar/restaurant is very good and the staff there are really friendly and welcoming. The roof terrace and pool is lovely and relaxing and having a private car parking facility accessible via lift directly to the hotel is a bonus.
It had everything we could want. We have been renting apartments in Spain for 30 years and this was the best equipped ever. It was spotlessly clean, well furnished and everything was supplied. The pool was good and we liked the location in the heart of the old town.
A great hotel in a perfect location run by friendly and competent owners Kev and Alix. The restaurant ,which we have used many times, is in our opinion the best in Nerja plus breakfast on the terrace served by the excellent staff is a must do experience.
The owner Manolo was very welcoming and took the time to recommend lots of spots for us to check out. It was 5-10 minutes away from all of the pretty beaches and restaurants. Nerja is amazing, would love to come back.
Breakfast was great lot of fresh meats, cheeses, fruits and yoghurt.
Hotel was very clean. Fantastic location in the centre of Nerja. Rooftop pool and sunbathing facilities were great if you needed to relax.
The location of the hotel is superb right on the beach. It’s a fair walk into Nerja from the hotel.
The staff were amazing and treated us well.
We enjoyed our stay very much.
Thank you to all the staff 🙏
I think this is my new favourite hotel! So beautiful and peaceful, with incredible views, and yet it's also a quick stroll to the centre of Nerja. Being able to take a lift right onto the beach was magic!
Location was on the beach and near to old town. Spacious apartment. Although dated everything worked well. We had a 4 day rest while in Spain for several weeks and this place worked well for that.
