Staff was helpful with parking when we arrived. Not a fancy new hotel but quite nice and new enough, well-located on a large plaza that is next to the plaza that fronts the beach. Good view of the water and everything else around (the amazing mountains!) from the small rooftop pool, which is an excellent extra (we had it to overselves late one weekday afternoon). It's a good base of operations.

With whitewashed houses perched on rocky cliffs backed by the Sierra de Burno mountains, Nerja certainly has a picturesque setting. Other than from a boat, the best place to admire it is the so-called Balcony of Europe, a viewing platform overlooking the rugged coastline and turquoise waters.
Below the platform is a panoramic restaurant, and there are more restaurants and shops in the narrow town centre streets, as you would expect of a Costa del Sol resort. However, Nerja’s distinct character differentiates it from the high-rise resorts. Its relaxed feel and Blue Flag beaches attract families, and there are good diving spots off neighbouring Maro.
The town is spread over hills, and below one just outside town the Nerja Caves stretch for over 5 km. Concerts are held in one cavernous chamber.
A 19th-century, multi-level aqueduct spans a gorge to the east, while to the west the Rio Chillar cuts through rocks to form a waterfall. The nearby donkey sanctuary also houses the occasional other farmyard animal. Dating back to the 17th century is the Hermitage of Las Angustias, and El Salvador Church is on a square looking out to sea.
Booking.com’s Nerja accommodation includes luxury beach hotels, guest houses with pools, and cheap apartments with parking – particularly handy if you arrive by car from Málaga Airport.
Loved the beaches and cuisine options. No end to restaurants. We loved having a property that was provided a quiet oasis where we could also cook in. when we so desired. We enjoyed amazing weather and the somewhat this somewhat quieter shoulder season as we understand it is very busy during the summer months.
We rented bikes (through Bikestore Nerja)and cycled east on the 340 exploring beaches along the coast. We rented paddleboards on Burriana Beach and explored the beaches and shoreline from the water … Maro Cliffs. We visited the town of Frigiliana and enjoyed a free walking tour to learn about the town’s history
We dined at a Michelin Chef Restaurant … Oliva!! Outstanding!
We walked everywhere or took public transport to Frigiliana. Very easy to navigate and so affordable.

You cannot help but fall in love with Nerja.
You cannot help but fall in love with Nerja. The Balcon de Europa is a great place to people watch and just let the world go by. The side streets from it are packed with Cafes, restaraunts and shops that would take you more than week to enjoy. Tapas or full menu, Spanish, Italian, Indian, Tai, Japanese is all available and with a great atmosphere surrounding you. jet washed streets, with flowers and high sun shade awnings make it a great place to visit. Don't eat too early, book after 9 and you will see a Spanish town really come to life. Enjoy

A great atmosphere, noisy and lively around the Balcon de Europe however there were other quieter areas to be found if that was what was needed. Similarly, you can eat and drink relatively cheaply or there are fine dining restaurants for a treat. Every cafe, restaurant, etc we visited had polite, patient staff...It is a great holiday destination.

Nerja is a great place to wander and explore.
Nerja is a great place to wander and explore. There are loads of narrow winding streets to get lost in. Although, we have noticed that the centre of town around the Balcon is getting much busier, and very crowded. Try the local bars further out, the people are friendly and the prices are low.
Also, we suggest a trip up to Frigiliana. It is one of the most beautiful villages in Andalucia. Travel there by the local bus, it's a lot easier than driving.

Fabulous selection of restaurants and bars lifted in typically Spanish streets that wind down to the balcony of Europe. Everywhere was clean and well maintained and bar/ Restaurant prices were reasonable. Place had a great vibe to it.
Stayed in December. Great hotel perfectly situated in Nerja for visiting the town on foot if staying for a few days without a car. A few minutes walk from the sea and restaurants. I recommend booking a room with a balcony as more spacious than the standard room. Good breakfast. Helpful staff. Excellent transfer service between Malaga airport and the hotel.
Lovely breakfast, superb peaceful location immediately above the busy beach of Nerja so had best of both worlds. Could relax quietly and swim in hotel pool or easily access more hectic beach for paella/drinks/swimming/kayaking. Loved this location. Also v easy walk in to the town. Beautiful views from sea view terrace
The hotel was situated less than 10 mins walk to the centre of Nerja and was a lovely stroll. Very close to a beach as well.
The rooms were very clean and super comfy bed. Unfortunately the walls are very thin!! Breakfast was a lovely Mediterranean cold buffet and access to tea/coffee all day was great.
Llocation was excellent. I find this area the best to stay in Nerja. halfway between the old town area and Burriana Beach. Apartment was basic but it was clean and had everything we needed. plus the showers were roasting which was great.
