Have stayed here before. General interior has been improved. Fantastic for birding with it's own hides, and for astrophotography on the large communal balcony. Very good optional typically Spanish breakfast. Lovely owners who speak some English.
Overall I would recommend!!
This small and charming hotel is in the heart of the Gredos Mountains. El Milano Real includes a library with over 2000 books, a private garden and free Wi-Fi.

The owner Juanfran was amazing - really friendly and helpful, showing us mountain routes not on the map we had. Super-friendly, but not in a pushy way! Location was ideal for exploring the North side of the Gredos. Great breakfast. Just what we wanted - excellent value. Supper was great too, but more hiking fuel than haute cuisine!

The wooden floors throughout the hotel are very noisy but we appreciate this is not something easily changed. Our first room was particularly noisy and we considered booking out after one night but reception staff were incredibly helpful and found us a quieter room.
This is a great place for walkers and hikers but it was a very long and winding road to get there. While in Gredos, we would recommend going to the caves... that alone was worth the visit! Breakfast was delicious... would definitely recommend it. They have a lovely little gift cabinet at reception.

The accommodation is listed as a Refugio - ie a hostal, so do not expect luxury. It is comfortable. The village is actually Barajas, and Navarrendonda is just a couple of kilometres away, with an excellent convenience store. This whole area is in the Gredos, the mountains in the area NW of Madrid, so the Madrelanous come for the week-end mainly for walking, which we also enjoyed. The whole area is beautiful and we have been in the Gredos several times.

The scenery is absolutely stunning, with incredible mountain walks or pine forests near by. The local bars are friendly and welcoming and a visit to El Parador hotel for a hot chocolate on the terrace is a must.
We will definitely be going back to explore this amazing region.

This was a last minute booking as we had been let down by another hotel. . We were surprised at the spaciousness of the apartment and of the kitchen facilities, with a lovely terrace to enjoy a glass of Rioja!! Amazing. Conchi provided a good breakfast, and was a mine of information about the village.
The property has a village location but plenty of green space in the garden and views to the Gredos mountains. Great bed options, cozy and easy to adjust the temperature, a lovely warm house and well supplied with toiletries etc.
Lovely hotel in the pico gredos area. View of the mountains from the balcony. Very nice staff, very welcoming despite our very, very limited Spanish. Room was excellent and comfortable.
Lovely, clean and cosy home in a rural village, perfect for a weekend away to visit Sierra de Gredos. Host was charming and welcoming. Highly recommend
