Perfect location, very clean and modern room. The location is perfect with parking in front of the hotel and in the center and 1min from the beach. Owners are super friendly. You can not make any mistake if you want to visit l'escala!

We had an upgrade and the room was amazing. The bed was the most comfortable one we had been given in 2 weeks of travelling and we slept very well. The food for dinner and breakfast was superb. The ambience was fantastic, the property beautifully renovated and it was safe and quiet. The dog had pleanty of room and he also settled very well which was unusual but fantastic.
Outside we sat looking over the millpond, and saw turtles, a snake (not harmful) ducks and fish. It was a lovely afternoon spent sitting in the shade sipping wine and chilling out.

beautiful room and best breakfast I ever had in a hotel!
Situated next to Montgo beach, on the edge of L’Escala on the Costa Brava coastline, this charming hotel boasts great facilities, including an outdoor swimming pool and on-site restaurant.
Two pools! Good restaurant. Excellent value for money

Relaxed, great location, excellent food. Beautiful.

L'Escala is a quiet beach resort with mostly French tourists (some staff had limited English but were very friendly and willing to help, and welcoming with children!). The Riells beach is large and clean with soft sand, there is a smaller beach in the nearby Old Town. It can be windy. The funfair/amusement park is not open until June. A car is useful, but there is also a tourist train going to Montgo beach and Empuries medieval village (both beautiful!)

a very beautiful town, some places reminded Greece, white houses, clear sea, seagulls everywhere. Water was cold in May but lots of people swam. Long promenade along the beaches, full of restaurants and bars for any taste, lots of rocks by the shore for kids to climb on.
Centre of the village isn't accessible for cars, so we had to carry luggage with us from the parking.
We stayed in the centre, it is lively until very late in the evening, lots of people and dogs walking, kids playing.
We liked all restos we ate at, maybe Glop was overrated, we had to reserve table in advance and it was nothing special at all, burger wasn't great. Italian place Tagliatella was much better, thinnest crust pizzas I ever tried

L'Escala is a lovely town, we stayed in the old town at the northern end which has more charm and ambience that the newer part near the port which is more like a standard resort with large holiday apartment blocks. The standard of the restaurants in general is very good. To really appreciate the locality it probably is best to hire a car. However, it is possible to enjoy visiting L'Escala without one also. We visited Figures, Girona, the Roman and Greek ruins in Empuries and also the pretty little village of St. Marti D'Empuries without a car.

This was my fifth visit to l'Escala.
This was my fifth visit to l'Escala. A lovely town, great for walking/cycling excursions. Lots of beaches, woodland and the ruins of Empuries. Coastal walks to the south, old coastal defence bunkers, secluded coves...there's plenty to do and see here. A wide variety of restaurants and bars, all within easy walking distance. Well worth visiting.

Very nice sea, especially for those who like snorkelling.
Very nice sea, especially for those who like snorkelling. The deep sea offers you various kind of fish who just do not escape from you. I had also seen this kind of fish friendship in Hurgada (Egypt). Very nice spot to moore for yachts. The next time I'll hire a yacht and moore in this bay. The nature is wild, windy and mostly rocky. The only sand is accumulated inside the bay where people enjoy sunbathing and swimming. The vicinity of L'Escala is plenty of attractions. One can climb to tower of Montgo (Torre de Montgo) to see the bay from high. Spectacular view. The restaurant Can Miquel is one of the best in the bay, but one needs to make a booking at least from 2-3 days before to take a table in outside.

So much to do, with many little beaches, beautiful old town and newer further along the cove. Restaurants and bars are a plenty! Great for kids with lots of fun things happening in the summer months but also fab for just you :)
This hotel had the charm of being in the country with all the modern amenities. We booked a junior suite which was spacious and it had a loft that we did not need to use. There was a doorway that was low, and my 6 foot husband bumped his head a couple of times, so watch out. The staff was super nice and helpful. We loved the large wood burning fireplace in the common area. We had dinner and breakfast here and the food was quite good. Highly recommend this hotel.
Room was rustic style but luxurious. It was separate from the main building which also seemed equally beautiful. The breakfast was a stunning buffet of fabulous fruit, sweets, meats and cheeses. Very high quality. We had a fabulous meal at a reasonable price. Public transport from Girona where we flew into - infrequent but very comfortable and cheap. 2-3 minute walk to hotel from the bus stop. 10 min walk to the beach.
This is a wonderfully run hotel in an excellent location by Montgo Bay , just a little way out of the town of L’Escala.
Everything and everyone was really first rate.
The adjoining restaurant was really good and you could order off the menu del dia if staying at the hotel for an excellent 3 course dinner including wine for around 18 € per head.
I should not promote such lovely place if being selfish...
To compare with Le Meridien Monaco, which was my most favorite hotel, this location beats all! You have the feeling being on Hawai with the view, the lay back atmosphere, the excellent service, the lovely staff... WOW!
Loved all
I have to congratulate Nuria and all the crew for such an Amazing customer service! Its a 1 star hotel but the girls deserve a 5 star rating. Caring, friendly, went above and beyond! Nuria respinded to my countless inquiries super fast and was always willing to help.
Great location sea view, short walk to old town and new town, hotel was very clean, rooms spacious great air condition and cleaned everyday, good breakfast, pool lovely, plenty of sun beds, bar reasonably priced. Staff all friendly Could not complain about anything.
Delightful comfortable hotel right next to the beach.
The room decor was in good taste and the bed really comfortable.
The owners were very welcoming and helpful.
The hotel's restaurant was popular, of high quality and reasonably priced for L'Escala.
The 2 gentlemen (at the reception - I think they are the owners), are so kind and attentive. Everytime we have stayed there, we felt comfortable and they have done their best to attend our needs. The hotel is very clean and super close to the beach.
Efficient and friendly staff. Hotel is well placed close to the village & beach and has been redecorated with style. The breakfast is fantastic as is the service. Highly recommend this hotel, which also has a paid private parking if needed.
The view from the room was marvelous. Thee spread for the buffet breakfast and dinner was splendid. There was such a great positive vibe about the hotel. The abundance of fresh air and sunlight really gives it a very pleasant atmosphere
Room was fine. Beds were very good. Views of the sea are limited by several buildings. We stayed in late Spring, the area was very quiet, but probably a lot busier in Summer
