Unexpected superb accommodation in a very rural setting on the Camino del norte.
No diversion needed. Perfect location
We didn’t try the pool because of weather. We did eat in the restaurant which was excellent. Serious quality of food. 2 brothers who run this property are very smooth operators Great place

Guemes is just the most lovely tiny town in northern Spain!
Guemes is just the most lovely tiny town in northern Spain! I was walking the Camino and stayed just one night this time but want to come back and spend a week here using it as a hub for cycling in the area. The restaurant at the hotel is top notch, too - the bacaloa de pisto I ate there was simply divine!!!

I stuck in the rain at around 8pm on my way reaching to Guemes, and it was a mountain road. A lady who was walking her two dogs saw me and offered me to drive me to the hotel i booked at Guemes. I wanted to leave money when i drop off her van but she sincerely refused. The hospitality and kindness i experienced in this small town (by staying only in total 10 hours or so) made me feel that that day was the best time i experienced during my entire camino de santiago 5 days journey. Not to mention that I woke up the second day at the hotel with a complete mountain view in this quiet village, with fresh made apple juice, nice baked breakfast and a ColaCao:).
This little hotel was perfect! My friends and I walked in off the Camino anticipating auch needed luxurious stay after sixteen miles that day on the Camino and several previous nights of less than fabulous accomodations along the Way. This place did not disappoint and in fact exceeded all my expectations!!! I plan to come back and use Guemes as a base for cycling and will definitely book the same room for that!
The name of the hotel speaks for itself. We were under the protection of angels. The decor of the hotel is amazing. Everything was done to match the century before last, you feel like you’re in a fairy tale. The staff is very attentive and friendly. In the common room you can drink tea or coffee from fine china cups at any time. Absolutely homely atmosphere.
Friendly staff, Maria Jesus in particular was so kind and helpful as I arrived very early by car due to injuries incurred walking the Camino. I was able to access the room 4 hours ahead of schedule. Lovely hotel, nice room and bath. Quiet living room. Delicious breakfast. Helpful with arranging a taxi.
Located in the little village of Güemes this is a beautiful property. It has a lovely swimming pool from which you can enjoy beautiful country scenery. Rooms are very comfortable and clean and staff friendly and helpful. The property has a restaurant where we able to enjoy dinner and breakfast.
Great breakfast buffet and very friendly staff. Loved the hot bath after a long day of hiking the Camino. The hotel is right on the Camino. They don't have a restaurant but there is a restaurant nearby where they serve dinner.
the property’s location in Güemes on the Camino del Norte, makes it an ideal stopping place for those who are not staying in albergues. large room with en-suite bathroom. very clean. nice restaurant practically next door
Lovely room in old, characterful building in Guemes. Facilities include an outside pool and bedroom hot tub. Restaurant is next door with good dinner and breakfast. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Would stay again.
Really nice hotel with a beautifully modern room in an old style. On the Camino and close to two restaurants. Staff excellent and went out of their way to help us. Recommend and exceeded our expectations
Walking the Camino. Didn't have many choices left in Guemes so we booked this without noticing the amenities. What a surprise! Beautiful pool outside and a jacuzzi in the room! Perfect for aching limbs!
The hotel is a good one but we had trouble booking in as no staff appeared to stay on the premises. A nice man(owner?) came to our rescue after we encountered a very unpleasant lady
it is located on the Camino Del Norte, which we are following. This hotel is excellent. The hotel restaurant is also truly superb. Everything about the Posada de Guedes was superb!
Beautiful small hotel, the owners were very nice, breakfast was good and a beautifully decorated table with hydrangeas.
The rooms were very cozy and beautiful!
