The hotel is very modern and has all the facilities you could need. The room was lovely, with and very nice bathroom and a walkin shower. The air con was cool and very quiet during the night.
With out doubt the best part was breakfast, so much choice.
The staff also deserve a special mention as they were all helpful and spoke many languages.
I was also able to park my car undercover and also charge it at the same time

Fabulous hotel with lots of history in an excellent location.
The room was large and very comfortable, the staff very friendly and helpful and the breakfast great. We only stayed one night, but would highly recommend.

The breakfast at this hotel was truly exceptional. Not the usual you would expect from hotel continental breakfast - but homemade cakes, freshly cooked eggs, fresh breads, all sorts of meats, cheeses, yogurts, milks. Fruit. Tortilla. Literally everything you could want. We also had dinner in the restaurant and it was very good. Lovely staff. Big room. Comfy. Great secure parking.

we stay there often due to ease and we have 1 dog and its dog friendly place. we stayed 3 days this time and, at times it seemed a victim of its own success-many had 3 plus dogs and it felt a bit like dog kennels at times! Its a reasonable drive to the coast, which is pleasant.

Mainly went to Figueres to visit the Teatre -Musu Dali. This cost 23 euros for a standard ticket/ 18 euros reduction. Tickets are purchased at the right hand booth. A suitable time slot is chosen such as 11.30 a.m. 12.45 p.m. etc. when buying the ticket. It's worth a visit. Takes about 1.5 to 2 hours to see all the rooms. At 11.45 a.m. it was crowded inside. Accessibility wise: there are large open areas but also many narrow corridors and steps.

Figueres is a slightly shabby town though perfectly friendly and people mostly come here for the Dali museum. Were stayed for a couple of days rest at the end of our long GR11 hike - its much cheaper than Barcelona! tbh though there isn't a lot to do here.

Very nice little town!! People are nice , the restaurants are affordable, they had a really nice food market on Thursday morning! It was perfect!
Its a little town though so 3-4 days is long enough ;)
Be sure to visit the Dali Museum, it’s just unfortunate that the paintings are not better explained. An audio guide would have been appreciated.
The best churros were right around the corner from Duran Hotel!!!

I didn't come for the Dali Museum and didn't go to it.
I didn't come for the Dali Museum and didn't go to it. But Figueres is a pleasant and friendly town and I enjoyed exploring it. It is also a good base for visiting and walking in the surrounding countryside. I had a couple of excellent longish walks in the Serra de Rodes (on two of the megalithic trails) and there is clearly much more to explore.

Food in some cafes inexpensive even in the main Ramblas area.
Visited the St Ferran castillo (N11A north of Figueres). English tours ob specific days of the week. In my opinion not suitable if walking is restricted. There is a 20 min overview in several languages inside. 5€ for standard enttrance. Guided tour 16 euros.
Very clean and central location in the heart of Figueres. This means also lots of tourists in the street below, so don’t go here if you are not used to this! The building itself is nice and quiet. Washing machine is a plus. Good communication with the host!
La Barretina is run by a couple who have hospitality in their bones. What it lacks in size of rooms or luxury is made up by their willingness to connect and provide assistance. They also have a range of the best herbal teas available. Unusual for Spain.
The location is amazing, in the city center, you can walk everywhere fast.
The rooms are good size, comfortable with basic equipment. TV with only Spanish channels.
