Complejo Turístico La Garganta, hotel in El Chorro

An old flour factory dating from the year 1827 was totally reformed in order to offer the visitor all the amenities and comfort of a modern hotel.

Proximity to Caminito del Rey walk. We had booked an early walk and were pleased to find there was a shuttle bus from the hotel. Staff were friendly and helpful especially the young lady on reception. Price was very reasonable but did not include breakfast.

La Barbería de Miguel, hotel in El Chorro

Set in El Chorro, La Barbería de Miguel offers air-conditioned accommodation with a balcony and free WiFi. The property has lake and river views. Guests can make use of barbecue facilities.

We booked the place because we did the Caminito del Rey, and the location was superb! It was close to the South Access (end of Caminito del Rey), and the bus stop to get to the North Access (starting point), which was perfect. There were some shops and a restaurant (hotel) nearby, but if you needed more supplies and dining options, you would need to drive. The check-in process was easy. The place was clean and had everything we needed. The bed was comfy. And our balcony had an unbelievable view! It's so much better in person. The hosts were fantastic and excellent in communication - checked in prior to, during, and after our stay. The hosts even asked if we needed anything, so they could bring them to us. I thought that was really nice, even though it wasn't necessary, in our case. They even gave us a free bottle of wine and some olives, which I thought was a good personal touch.

The location close to El Chorro was amazing, totally rural and get away from it all! We were met on arrival and everything was clearly explained to us, lovely host! The property was excellent, the view from the lounge was stunning. Loved the plunge pool and garden area where we could chill with a bottle of wine. Bathroom facilities were excellent with plenty of hot water throughout our stay.

We’re a group of climbers and loved the location for access to the amazing el chorro climbing. The pool gets the shade in the afternoon and Al fresco dining was lovely. Richard was incredibly kind with local climbing knowledge and super responsive and communicative.

There isn't anything to do in El Chorro, apart from our excellent hotel, there is one other small bar next to the train station and a super market which is a very small shop that sells very little. The train station is unmanned and our experiences with the trains in Spain you could write a comedy series on it, with tickets you booked online not arriving or cancelled the last 4 trains and costing 80 Euros for a taxi to get back to the hotel. Or 40 minutes late, meaning you missed your connection and then had a wait of 4 hours or return to El Chorro.

Great start point for the Caminito del rey - shuttle buses will take you to the trail head leading to the Caminito del Rey access point. Caminito del Rey ends 2 km away from el Chorrro. There are a couple of other interesting walking trails starting in el Chorro. Parking can be a problem.

We booked room based on photos but got something very different. Room given wasn't suitable for us but for a younger modern couple. The stairs were too narrow no sofa . Lighting too bright and exposed for us. It has it good points with views and using for overnight stay is good but not for a week stay. The walk around was lovely and recommended. Guided tour stats at 9.30 and well worth it. No outside eating places just the restaurant. This hotel wasn't for us but is suitable for backpackers.

Charming, well maintained hotel in a stunning location.

Charming, well maintained hotel in a stunning location. We were a group of friends traveling together and stayed in a 2 bedroom unit. The room was totally fine but it would have been good to know before booking that the walls in the unit don’t go all the way to the ceiling (not even the bathroom room ones). The gap is really wide - no privacy possible.

An incredible place for climbing, walking or just relaxing.

An incredible place for climbing, walking or just relaxing. We loved it and it’s so accessible from Málaga. The scenery is breathtaking. Walking the Caminito Del Rey is a must if you’re in the area...I was nervous as I don’t like heights but I’m so pleased to have conquered my fears...it was utterly thrilling. The area is packed with things to do and places to see. We’ll be. Back!

El Chorro is a great location to stay if you are doing The Caminito del Rey as it is at the end of the walk and far less busy than Ardales (the starting location). It is also a great base for walking, hiking and climbing. The surrounding mountains and countryside are fabulous and it is definitely worth staying an extra night to enjoy the surrounding areas. The nearby town of Antequera is very interesting and should not be missed whilst you are in the area.

A little piece of paradise and place to come back to! We enjoyed our stay at the cortijo sooo much😍 Jacques (the owner) made us feel welcome from the moment of our arrival and we really enjoyed having breakfasts and dinners with him. We had plenty of good laughs. The cortijo itself is a great base for exploring the area around, you can start your hike directly from the doorstep. And if you are in the area for climbing you can walk to different crags as well. We’ll be back!

Spectacular location! The house is great, especially the large living room and the swimming pool area. We used the house as a base for Caminito del Rey, Ronda, and rock climbing in El Chorro area, and it served the purpose perfectly.
