Location is excellent, with a nice restaurant located just below the hotel. The entire staff is extremely helpful and willing to go the extra mile for their customers.

We love everything about this hotel, the staff are all so friendly, it's in a great position and the food is delicious, authentic Spanish and healthy cuisine 👏🤗👏

Everything worked OK and the bed was comfy. All was quite clean and generally worked. It would benefit if maintenance replaced the seals in the sink plugs as they didn't hold water for very long but that is a minor gripe. Breakfast had a good selection of foods, the restaurant was clean and there were enough staff on duty which is gratifying to see as we recently stayed in a couple of Paradors where there was 1 person for over 50 guests.
The breakfast option when booking the room here was good value.
See review already answered. A good place for a short stay if you want to visit Merida but do not want the hassle of staying in the town itself. So history and (Roman) architecture are only a few kilometres away.

We had an excellent two night stay at Don Alvaro.
We had an excellent two night stay at Don Alvaro. Lovely property and room with fantastic hosts. We ate both nights there and the food was very good, excellent breakfast. It is a good place to stay to visit Merida nearby.
A fabulous welcome from Pepe as we parked outside of the hotel. We were served drinks in the sunlit courtyard. We asked for dinner and were very glad we did. It was terrific home cooking but with lots of attention and love put into the cooking.
The room was spacious, clean and very comfortable.
Breakfast was very well presented.
A real gem!
Thank you!

Hotel was beautiful and the couple who own it are the loveliest people. I can’t fault this place at all, the homemade food was all so delicious and the host’s were some of the friendliest people we’ve ever met. Will definitely be visiting again!
