The hotel is quite unique, having been a castle at some stage. The buffet breakfast was good and we had nice views all the way to Gibraltar from the window. Room had a nice big bath and there was a cute little bar and outside terrace.

This is one of the nicest places we have stayed, ever. The setting is beautiful and the apartment a gem. Whoever chose the colours of the furnishings has a rare idea for colour. Everything was comfortable & well thought out. As an added bonus, the restaurant is just along the passageway.

I've waited some time now before writing this review because I was so angry about the stay here, I needed to calm down and not be too emotional about my review.
The only positive thing I can say is that the staff on reception are nice, polite and helpful.
Old roman road hiking up to the castle is must do.

Horse riding downhill exceeds expectations.
Dinner in the castle is really enjoyable.
Stay in the medieval house is a very interesting option for one max two nights due to the level of comfort modern peope are used to.

It’s our beloved castle’s hotel. Got in for two nights right after wedding. In the whole hotel parts of the actual building structure can be seen. Lovely vibe. Got the best room with an excellent view and a tiny terrace overlooking at the reservoir. super silent nights, great to relax during the day. The restaurant (in the castle) and the bar (in the hotel, again with lovely views) are also nice to have on site. They provide a quick basic breakfast - good to have, considering the very few rooms.
the reception and breakfast is in the castle tower. the room turned out to be a house within the castle walls. two floors, kitchen, small dining table and bathroom on ground floor, bedroom upstairs. nothing fancy, but very cozy and authentic, and right across from the good restaurant, also run by the hotel. Castellar, of course, is spectacular, and you're staying IN the castle
The hotel was just perfect, and in a perfect location.
The Restaurant on site served very good food!
The starters were amazing … especially the Game Patè!! The bedroom was spotless , comfortable and the bedding and pillows were the best of any hotel I’ve stayed in .

The fact that it’s an old castle in the mountains of Spain. The views are really wonderful in all directions. It will make you think about the people that built this place. You can see all the way to Gibraltar from this hotel.
