This family run hotel took us in during Covid when we were desperate, so we were thrilled to go back and thanks them. Obviously, everything much nicer this time. Incredible location, with view from window of Lake and mountains, and superb meal in restaurant.
Offering views of the mountains, El Invernal de Picos is set in Portilla de la Reina in the Picos de Europa Regional Park and offers a good starting point for the Cares Trail.

Quiet and peaceful surroundings. Rossana was an excellent host (and very happy to meet Ares too). The perfect place to bring our dog.
Relatively easy access to Cares trail starting at Cain. Plenty of great walks close to town as well.

Amazing flat!! The pictures do not do justice. Two bedrooms and two bathrooms, one of them with hydromassage shower which was great before going to bed :) Living room has amazing mountain and lake views. Everything was new, modern and very clean. Cristina was an amazing host. You cannot find a better place in this beautiful village. Wonderful place!!!!

There really is very little to say about Boca de Huérgano itself...it’s a tiny sleepy place but it does provide easy access to the Picos de Europa and the road between Riaño and Potes is one of the best you’ll ever drive. Not for nervous drivers but otherwise superb.

Restaurant and bar in hotel are reasonably priced food is good, you'll need Google translate if you are not fluent in Spanish. Located on the N621 which is perfect for motorcycles, you can leave your bike around the back so prying eyes don't see. In an area of outstanding beauty. Small village but other restaurants and bars nearby. Perfect location for the Picos mountains.
warm hotel with snow on the peaks and a thick over night frost. excellent food in the restaurant. unfussy but excellent Spanish cuisine. dead silent night. Storks nesting 100 meters from the hotel. Amazing scenery . comfy bed. clean sheets. Very Spanish, bar, patrons etc. I will be back. Bloody perfect after an epic and amazing long day on the motorcycle.
Small, family hotel where you feel very comfortable and welcome. Rooms are clean, staff is nice and in good mood. Breakfast is delicious - fresh orange juice which you can already smell when you arrive and toasted bread. Hotel has also terrace on the grass under the trees where you can spend your free time and relax.
The hotel also works as a restaurant.
Very kind staff. The beds were super comfortable, with no noise problems from neighboring rooms or outside.
Late checkin is also possible, the staff from the restaurant could help with it (just had to ring a bell). Breakfast was included in the price.
Good value Hotel. Rooms were very clean and tidy. Location is excellent for accessing the Picos. We were cycling and the property has a locked garage available. Restaurant and bar are very reasonably priced, and the portion sizes are extremely generous.
