An interesting old town with narrow streets, many churches and museums, scores of restaurants and tapas bars and a friendly atmosphere. Access to Granada and Ronda are easy by train or car. El Torcal is a very interesting trip into the mountains. A good central location for southern Andalucia

Lots of historical buildings and churches.
Lots of historical buildings and churches. The view from the castle at the top of the hill is worth the climb and the beautiful church. Plenty of eating places. We loved Loulu’s Bistro for breakfast opposite our hotel.

Friendly Pueblo Blanco town that’s easy to move through on foot or in car. It’s a central location to so much in Andalucía within 2-3 hours in a car, so you can spend a day in busy hectic Seville or Cordoba and sleep in peaceful Antequera.

Very friendly town.
Very friendly town. Recommend a guided tour to include the dolmens - we booked a combination tour of walking the town, visiting a chapel and a short ride in a 'micro bus' to the dolmens.
Buy cakes and pastries from a convent. Spend an evening in Bar Lola next to Plaza Coso Viejo for excellent food, friendly service and great atmosphere.
Antequera is an easy 45-minute drive from Málaga airport, so it's a great place to spend a couple of nights before heading off to explore Andalucía. Lots of free parking.

Antequera is a pretty town with a big church and castle.
Antequera is a pretty town with a big church and castle. Also, you can visit dolmens (in the town) and El Torcal hiking area (nearby, some 20km maybe). The town seemed cozy during workdays and quite busy on Saturday with many people cruising the streets.

Antequera is a beautiful place with loads of churches and elaborate buildings. I could have done with another day here at least. I also never got to sample the food so I will definitely need to come back.
It was awesome of our host Veronica to meet us enroute to the house.Veronica was a fabulous host and gave us lots of great suggestions, and also left us a few taxi drivers cards, which was great as there is no Uber in Antequera. There is a little grocery tienda a few doors down, and two major grocery stores about a ten minute walk . We were happy to have a kitchen with oven, a dishwasher and olive oil and balsamic vinegar. There is so much to see in Antequera that you can walk to, and be sure to do the ammonite hike at El Torcal!
The hotel was brilliantly located for exploring Granada, Seville, Cordoba, Malaga and Ronda (car drive was 1 -1.25 hours each way to the city and back ). It was situated just near a roundabout linking all the major highways. It was bright and clean. The rooms were large and comfortable with a fridge in the room.
Dinner was excellent and very reasonably priced. Breakfast was taken in the cafe next to the dining room and was full of local people.
The staff were charming and very helpful.
This place is great! 25 euro’s per room is the best value we have ever had in a hotel room. We arrived at the hotel about 11pm, checked in and then sat outside for a few drinks and a snack until 2 30am. Room was great and we fell asleep very quickly. The hotel serves food and drinks 24 hours a day. In the morning, after a long lie in, we had some amazing rolls and soft drinks before making or way to Seville.
Great location to explore Cordoba, Granada, Malaga, Ronda and Seville
Mostly 1 hour drives, Seville can be a bit longer
Nice size Pool, and great lounge space with a nice kitchen and diner. Outdoor dining also available
Bedrooms are all good size, and have a double bed in each. Showers are conveniently located between the bedrooms
Good privacy and perfect for families and or friends
Old fashioned Spanish building with wonderful courtyards both internally and outside.
Boutique hotel with really top quality restaurant and bar in traditional Spanish bodega style.
We had our dinner in the restaurant courtyard with hanging plants and beautiful lighting.
Didn’t get to use the pool facilities but it would be great in the summer months.
We actually stayed for three nights the town is lovely plenty to see. We changed rooms after the first night to one with a window over the court yard. The typical Andalusian court yard is lovely to sit in. The hotel is in a good location in the centre of the town but easy to get to from the bus station.
Apartment was super clean and cozy . Well equipped kitchen, nice living room , very comfortable beds , everything nicely decorated and neat.
Location is perfect . Excellent communication with the host, who was very helpful.
It was best accomodation through our traveling through Spain.
The hotel is quaint but very clean. The cafe/cantina was exceptional and we enjoyed our tapas there very much. We came back for lunch on our last day and the restaurant was full as the 11 euro set menu was very popular, so we ate in the cafe/cantina again which was very good.
Perfectly located near the spectacular town of Antequera and the highway. Spacious room and bathroom plus balcony. Outstanding staff. Free parking. Inexpensive, great breakfast and the best dinner in 3 weeks of travels in Spain. We had exceptional fish!
Hotel allowed early entry as our train arrived at 10am! Very clean older family hotel with restaurant downstairs, very popular breakfast spot for locals...spacious corner room with large balcony...close to Mercadona market for wine n food n mini fridge.
The location is perfect. The rooms are simple but functional. The beds could have been a little bit more comfortable but for one night it was more than okay. The bathroom is nice and there was no bad small which is a rare thing to find in spain ;)
HUGE house that can fit up to 7 people. Stunning, new repair. Everything you need in one place including olive oil and washing machine with washing fluid. I LOVE Spain for such a houses and THANK the host for attention to every detail!!
Reasonably priced hotel in the very centre of Antequera. Tidy rooms, clean bathrooms, lift available. We haven't got a chance to check it out, but on the ground level there's a nice-looking restaurant.
The views are amazing and the hotel is in a really good location if you are looking to be situated outside of Antequera. The building is also beautiful but perhaps needs a bit of maintenance done to it
Overall the hotel was great and we would stay here again. Great staff, very nice facilities, comfortable bed. Location is fantastic. Shower has fantastic pressure. Very good value.
Lovely clean apartment. Comfortable beds, good water pressure in shower(not always the case in Spain) Heating available and worked. Close to centre but quiet.
