Lovely hotel in the underrated city of Antequera. Great pool and facilities. But it was the staff who were utterly exceptional. I left my backpack, containing passports, at a hiking stop some 40 miles away - but the hotel receptionists made phone call after phone call to track it down for me - and then arranged for it to be taken to the home of another staff member who lived not too far away, and they delivered back to me the next day. No charge. They could not have been more fantastic. The evening buffet was amazing value for money and included loads of different dishes - probably the only hotel we've stayed where we didn't go out to local restaurants (but we only had two nights).
Hotel La Yedra is 12 km from Antequera, conveniently located next to the A45 Motorway which connects Malaga and Cordoba. It offers 24-hour reception, free Wi-Fi and free parking.

The location is basically a simple hotel within what is nothing more than a Service station! There is a cafe used by locals which is reasonably busy with good beer and drinks but little in the way of food and the hotel restaurant is geared up for coach parties

Location was excellent, near the main tourist attractions and tourist office. Staff very helpful - room staff noticed I had used a rug as extra pillow and provided another pillow without being asked. Our room had a small balcony with a view of Alcazaba.
Featuring a terrace, Hotel Manzanito is located in Antequera in the Andalucía region, 49 km from Jorge Rando Museum and 50 km from Museum of Glass and Crystal.
Great location - very quiet; good room facilities.

Location fantastic, excellent staff GREAT VALUE!!!
The hotel and restaurant, with its welcoming and pleasant atmosphere, is situated in the attractive whitewashed town of Antequera, located in the heart of Andalusia.
Antequera was a real surprise! We stayed an extra night to spend time hiking in El Torcal. Remember to get off the train at Antequera AV and NOT Antequera Santa Ana to visit Antequera (taxi from Santa Ana is 40 euros, from AV it is 8 euros).
It is a very pretty, laid back town, very quiet during the day with some lovely bars and restaurants at night. Recommend Plaza San Francisco next to the Mercado (market), Plaza Coso Viejo, Marengo at Plaza Desculpas for drinks, coffee and breakfast. Arte Tapas next to Hostelaria Arte is lovely, also Restaurant Leila for dinner.
The museum in Coso Vieja is free and surprisingly good.
Visit the lovely Alcazar-with pretty views, the Dolmens (archeological site) a 20 min walk from town, and El Torcal mountains nature reserve - it’s free to go, a taxi return journey for two hours costs around 50 euros but well worth it. The tourist information is very helpful and will book taxis for you.
Hotel Infanta is great- lovely staff, rooms on 3rd floor (we had 301) have views of the square, rooftops and Lovers Rock (Peña de los Enamorados) and a rooftop sun terrace and tiny pool. Fantastic value at £72 a night!

An interesting old town with narrow streets, many churches and museums, scores of restaurants and tapas bars and a friendly atmosphere. Access to Granada and Ronda are easy by train or car. El Torcal is a very interesting trip into the mountains. A good central location for southern Andalucia

Lots of historical buildings and churches. The view from the castle at the top of the hill is worth the climb and the beautiful church. Plenty of eating places. We loved Loulu’s Bistro for breakfast opposite our hotel.

Friendly Pueblo Blanco town that’s easy to move through on foot or in car. It’s a central location to so much in Andalucía within 2-3 hours in a car, so you can spend a day in busy hectic Seville or Cordoba and sleep in peaceful Antequera.

Very friendly town.
Very friendly town. Recommend a guided tour to include the dolmens - we booked a combination tour of walking the town, visiting a chapel and a short ride in a 'micro bus' to the dolmens.
Buy cakes and pastries from a convent. Spend an evening in Bar Lola next to Plaza Coso Viejo for excellent food, friendly service and great atmosphere.
Antequera is an easy 45-minute drive from Málaga airport, so it's a great place to spend a couple of nights before heading off to explore Andalucía. Lots of free parking.

Antequera is a pretty town with a big church and castle.
Antequera is a pretty town with a big church and castle. Also, you can visit dolmens (in the town) and El Torcal hiking area (nearby, some 20km maybe). The town seemed cozy during workdays and quite busy on Saturday with many people cruising the streets.
Excellent quality food, clean throughout. Helpful friendly staff.
An area of few tourist so little English spoken. A good base for exploring Andalusia and to the town of Antequera is charming with many good clothe shops, restaurants and bars, beautiful architecture and clean well maintained streets and public gardens.
As typical English travellers we would have appreciated tea making facilities in our hotel room but that really was our only disappointment.
We would recommend the parador and hope to return soon
Location perfect . Friendly staff. Nice touch to have cool iced tea in foyer . Loved the quirkiness of the layout of the whole hotel . Little patios here and there . Room spotless and so comfortable . Great nights sleep ! Absolute value for money . Nice pool to dip in and refresh in the heat too
We liked the furnishings and the ambience of our room. The hotel is located in central Antequera but was only 16-17 minutes walking distance to Dolmen de Menga, a nearly 6000 years old tomb complex. We loved the hot bath after a long day of train ride and sightseeing.
Arrived 3am, greeted by welcoming staff Room spotlessly clean and comfortable. Hotel located just off main road so easy access and loads of parking. Good breakfast available too. We have stayed before and will stay again.
