This is a fantastic hotel and everything we were looking for.
We felt blessed and then we went to bed. The view of the hotel changed unfortunately, as the noise from every room on our floor could be heard. We heard phone alerts, conversation and toilet noises. To top it all, someone came it around 3am and was so noisy they may aswell have been in our room.
The only reason we wouldn't stay here again is the noise and lack of sleep.

A real gem - distinctive, luxurious, and artistic. Perfect for a cross-country stopover for us, but I wished we were staying longer. Helpful and attentive team, and a beautifully decorated building

We had no expectations of this hotel, it was a one night stay en-route elsewhere but we were all very pleased with this parador and would definitely put it on our list for future stays. Lovely facilities close to a fantastic Plaza Mayor in the town that was amazing with very atmospheric bars and restaurants.

A delightul,historical town.
A delightul, historical town. Enthusiastic guide of the town with the open theatre and church having QR codes so the information can be downloaded in English. Fascinating private museum of trades historically carried out in the town. Guided tour of local winery given by the owner. Easy to drive to the windmills of La Mancha or to Ubeda and Baeza.

The town had little going for it and town restaurant food was quite ordinary. I am still wondering why I booked to stay here for four nights! The large original 500 yo windmills were an hour and a half away(my bad). The local special garnacha wine I thought I’d find was very, very scarce.

Almagro is located near to the main E-5 road south, so convenient for a stopover on route to Costa del Sol. The Plaza Mayor is often featured on FB pages as a top place to visit. There are a few bars and gift shops under two-storey accommodation. Worth a visit if you like this sort of thing - but no need to stay too long. We ate at Abrasador Restaurante (just off the Plaza Mayor) which was only average in food quality and service. Our Hotel, Retiro del Maestre (which was very good) recommended Restaurante El Corregidor, and maybe we should have gone there. Having visited Almagro once, we would not dash back as there are plenty more places to visit on our travels.

Plaza Mayor a must.
Plaza Mayor a must. Many old buildings in town dating back to 1222. Tourist Information Office very helpful. Easy walking except some cobbles streets are tricky if mobility is a problem. Lots of bars and restaurants to suit all tastes. Met with friendly people everywhere.

We stayed here by chance - it was half way through our journey. We were not prepared for how beautiful a town this turned out to be. So historic and with many places of interest. I would recommend spending some time here.
Fantastic little hotel, seemed to be something different to see around every corner, really clean rooms and comfortable beds.
Super friendly staff that seemed to be going out of their way to make sure we were being looked after, even checking where we parked to make sure the car was ok.
Almagro itself is a lovely Spanish town without hoards of tourists, well worth a trip to see.
Recommend this hotel 100%, we absolutely loved our stay here.
Beautiful old building dating back to early 17th century. Our Junior Suite was huge and furnished with many authentic pieces of furniture and original wall paintings. Charming grounds with patios, gardens and a big outdoor swimming pool. Convenient gated parking, pleasant staff, reasonable price. If there is a hotel where you truly interact with history every moment of your stay, this is the one.
This is a beautiful little hotel, with quality fixtures and fittings. The breakfast was very varied, and we were invited to ask if we needed anything else.
The hotel is walking distance from the Plaza Mayor, and close to all the tourist attractions. Almagro is an intriguing little town, surprising us by finding the Spanish National Theatre Museum there. It's also famous for its lace making.
Clean and spacious rooms. Silent and quiet place. Less than 5-minute walking from the Major Square. Very easy to find free parking on the same street as the hotel is but still the hotel offers free underground spots included in the hotel rate. Breakfast buffet was simply amazing. Really nice and cool staff. Classical arquitecture of the building.
Hostal Los Escudos is a lovely and cozy place to stay in Almagro! The staff is very friendly and attentive, responding quickly to any questions. The facilities were really nice, the wifi worked well, it is about a 10 min walk to the center, and we particularly liked that there were places outside to sit and work when we needed to.
One night stay. Arrived by car at expected time. A quite large hotel. Shown room and services offered by hotel. Room was comfortable. Booking was only for the accommodation, but I had dinner and breakfast at the hotel's well appointed dining room. Meals were good. An easy walk into the Almagro town centre from the hotel.
Amazing place, interesting decor, the hosts couldn’t do enough to ensure our every need was met. Huge bed, very comfortable, brilliant location, everything fantastic! Easy parking very close by. Great communication from the hosts. Loved our stay here and our time in Almagro. We would stay here again without hesitation.
Motel-like appartments in an excellent location to discover Almagro and the surounding area. Clean, comfortable, secure parking right outside. Francisco is very friendly and helpful. The town square with lots of restaurants and bars is just a short walk away.
A hidden gem in Almagro. The outside doesn't hint to the very cozy inside. This place will be hard to beat in Almagro, as its very close to Plaza Mayor, there's free parking in the street, the breakfast is delicious and the place is very cozy.
. Very character-filled building and property, with interesting antiques and art. Very convenient walking distance to town center. Plenty parking on hotel grounds. Wonderful view of garden and sound of birds from our bedroom window.
Information at check in. Friendly staff. beautiful entrance. All facilities very sustainable. High tech lightning and enough sockets in a modern room. Comfortable beds. Top shower! Situated in a beautiful small city of Almagro.
The hotel was really nice full of little patios and interesting corners. The owners were very friendly and helpful. It was excellent value for your money.
