This is a fantastic hotel and everything we were looking for.
We felt blessed and then we went to bed. The view of the hotel changed unfortunately, as the noise from every room on our floor could be heard. We heard phone alerts, conversation and toilet noises. To top it all, someone came it around 3am and was so noisy they may aswell have been in our room.
The only reason we wouldn't stay here again is the noise and lack of sleep.

Large ensuite room. Authentic building. Warm with lots of hot water. Breakfast was excellent
Set just a short walk from the central plaza of Almagro, this restored 16th-century convent offers charming arched courtyards, beamed ceilings and an outdoor seasonal swimming pool.

All the staff were very helpful. They resolved an issue in the restaurant professionally. The building was beautifully and sympathetically maintained. Poor weather meant we couldn’t use the pool or any of the many charming courtyards. I would definitely return to this hotel.
Located in a restored 17th century townhouse, rooms at Casa del Rector are set around 3 courtyards and feature free Wi-Fi. The on-site spa offers a heated indoor pool and sauna, for an extra cost.

We had no expectations of this hotel, it was a one night stay en-route elsewhere but we were all very pleased with this parador and would definitely put it on our list for future stays. Lovely facilities close to a fantastic Plaza Mayor in the town that was amazing with very atmospheric bars and restaurants.

A delightul,historical town.
A delightul, historical town. Enthusiastic guide of the town with the open theatre and church having QR codes so the information can be downloaded in English. Fascinating private museum of trades historically carried out in the town. Guided tour of local winery given by the owner. Easy to drive to the windmills of La Mancha or to Ubeda and Baeza.

The town had little going for it and town restaurant food was quite ordinary. I am still wondering why I booked to stay here for four nights! The large original 500 yo windmills were an hour and a half away(my bad). The local special garnacha wine I thought I’d find was very, very scarce.

Almagro is located near to the main E-5 road south, so convenient for a stopover on route to Costa del Sol. The Plaza Mayor is often featured on FB pages as a top place to visit. There are a few bars and gift shops under two-storey accommodation. Worth a visit if you like this sort of thing - but no need to stay too long. We ate at Abrasador Restaurante (just off the Plaza Mayor) which was only average in food quality and service. Our Hotel, Retiro del Maestre (which was very good) recommended Restaurante El Corregidor, and maybe we should have gone there. Having visited Almagro once, we would not dash back as there are plenty more places to visit on our travels.

Plaza Mayor a must.
Plaza Mayor a must. Many old buildings in town dating back to 1222. Tourist Information Office very helpful. Easy walking except some cobbles streets are tricky if mobility is a problem. Lots of bars and restaurants to suit all tastes. Met with friendly people everywhere.

We stayed here by chance - it was half way through our journey. We were not prepared for how beautiful a town this turned out to be. So historic and with many places of interest. I would recommend spending some time here.
The hosts were very helpful and very nice people. They picked me up from the station late at night even though I didn't ask them to and it was obviously in no way obligatory for them to do so. They did this because they thought I might get lost - the hotel is actually easy to find and very central - and to simply be helpful. A young lady working there called Elena couldn't have been more helpful all round. I would thoroughly recommend this hotel to anyone thinking of staying there.
Probably the best Parador that we have stayed in! Almagro is a gorgeous traditional looking Spanish town and the Parador is in a beautiful building a 2 minute walk from the Plaza Mayor. The swimming pool was a highlight for us as deeper than most pools, and bonus the bar just next to it. The bedrooms are spacious and so clean with such good bed linen. The breakfast was nearly as good as the setting in the old rectory and the dining room with shallow pools.
Fantastic little hotel, seemed to be something different to see around every corner, really clean rooms and comfortable beds.
Super friendly staff that seemed to be going out of their way to make sure we were being looked after, even checking where we parked to make sure the car was ok.
Almagro itself is a lovely Spanish town without hoards of tourists, well worth a trip to see.
Recommend this hotel 100%, we absolutely loved our stay here.
Beautiful old building dating back to early 17th century. Our Junior Suite was huge and furnished with many authentic pieces of furniture and original wall paintings. Charming grounds with patios, gardens and a big outdoor swimming pool. Convenient gated parking, pleasant staff, reasonable price. If there is a hotel where you truly interact with history every moment of your stay, this is the one.
Everything was wonderful, the location is perfect - 3 min walk from the main plaza. The people who run the hotel are extra nice and helpful. The room was much bigger than what expected. The bathroom spacious with modern shower despite being the “period” building. The breakfast was varied with almost everything homemade, and the coffee and orange juice were exceptional.
the apartment has two bedrooms and a living room with kitchen which is fully equipped so you can easily prepare your meals. There is also washer and detergent whish is great if you’re staying for longer time. I really appreciated the air conditioning because it gets very hot is Almagro in summer. Overall, I had a wonderful stay in Bella Almagro apartment.
Clean and spacious rooms. Silent and quiet place. Less than 5-minute walking from the Major Square. Very easy to find free parking on the same street as the hotel is but still the hotel offers free underground spots included in the hotel rate. Breakfast buffet was simply amazing. Really nice and cool staff. Classical arquitecture of the building.
Great bad and breakfast style hotel, it is in a very beautiful rural house the rooms are great spacious clean and comfortable.
The breakfast was great as well and the staff were nice and helpfull.
There is plenty of parking nearby , just a cross the corner in the street. A greate value for the money :-)
Almagro is also nice town/vilage
Hostal Los Escudos is a lovely and cozy place to stay in Almagro! The staff is very friendly and attentive, responding quickly to any questions. The facilities were really nice, the wifi worked well, it is about a 10 min walk to the center, and we particularly liked that there were places outside to sit and work when we needed to.
The hotel is an ancient house refurnished with a remarkable good taste. Our room was large and its comfortable furniture dated from the beginning of the last century. Located at a short distance of the main square of Almagro it was a perfect place for wandering around and visiting churches, palaces, museums and the old theatre.
One night stay. Arrived by car at expected time. A quite large hotel. Shown room and services offered by hotel. Room was comfortable. Booking was only for the accommodation, but I had dinner and breakfast at the hotel's well appointed dining room. Meals were good. An easy walk into the Almagro town centre from the hotel.
Motel-like appartments in an excellent location to discover Almagro and the surounding area. Clean, comfortable, secure parking right outside. Francisco is very friendly and helpful. The town square with lots of restaurants and bars is just a short walk away.
Everything went well. Ample sized room, very clean, with a comfortable bed. Bonus, not usually found in Spanish hotels, tea and coffee making facilities. Breakfast was extra, but good value. The whole interior of the hotel was unusual and very pleasing.
