Embraced by the sandy Costa Blanca beaches and caressed by the crystalline waters of the Mediterranean Sea, Alicante has a rich heritage built over thousands of years. Alacant (as it's known in Valencian) has a deep history ranging from the first tribes that arrived at the slopes of Mount Benacantil to Greeks, Romans and Moors. Nowadays, this modern city boasts a bustling harbour, great Spanish nightlife, charming old streets and modern beach resorts.
Overlooking the city from the top of Mount Benacantil, the Castle of Santa Barbara was built in the 9th century during Islamic rule. Cascading down the slopes towards the city centre, L'Ereta Park has terraced levels that offer stunning panoramic views of the city. The remains of the ancient Roman town of Lucentum are also just a few kilometres away.
Barrio de la Santa Cruz is the historic quarter, featuring narrow streets, old houses and cobbled steps. Framed by palm trees and covered with a snaking pattern of white, red and blue tiles, the Explanada de Espana is considered one of Spain’s most beautiful promenades.
After arriving at Alicante Airport, indulge yourself in a resort near San Juan beach, or enjoy the view of luxurious yachts moored at the marina from a cosy B&B: Booking.com has the perfect spot for you to discover the magic of Alicante!

Alicante is a great place for a break.
Alicante is a great place for a break. The views from Castle Santa Barbara overlooking the city are amazing, and there is a lively Old Town (El Barrio) with a wide selection of bars and restaurants. It's great to have a drink in one of the bars by the port and the two main beaches, Playa del Postiguet and San Juan, are clean and spacious.

Underrated as a destination - most folks seem to fly into Alicante and go elsewhere; they are missing out!
Great beach, excellent bars and restaurants. Recommended bars: Austins (excellent value cocktails), Red Corner sports bar for beers after a walk around town, Restaurante la Taverna Dell´ Artista for gluten free meals. Cafe Al Carrtoccio (C. de la Virgen del Socorro) for excellent and cheap coffee with a sea view.
A big, big plus was gluten free food and beer - everyone was aware, and people really took care of my wife's celiac disease requirements.
The old town is great for wandering around, a great castle, and a great beach.

Alicante is quite a small city but it is beautiful.
Alicante is quite a small city but it is beautiful. There is so much to do and see and the beaches are stunning. The cost of food and drinks on average are ok however there are some bars and restaurants especially on the beach that cost double of those in the city centre. Don’t be afraid to ask the cost before you purchase.

Barbara Castle: walk up or get a lift (€3, over 65's free), historuc, good views. City walking tour by locals brought us to old town places we would have missed. MUBAG Art Museum had a Dali exhib, Portraits in a lovely old building. Trams are great for Costa Blanca beaches. Good bus services. Trains to Murcia. Music @ Teatro Principal as a Jazz festival was on (April). Very good restaurants - fish & seafood eg Dorada / Bream, Prawns; Tapas - we were happy with all our meals.

Lovely city.
Lovely city. Old town very compact with great restaurants and a nice buzz about the place. The beach is lovely with nice beach restaurants and bars dotted along that were reasonably priced.
Easy to get to/from airport by bus.
Hotel is located outside the city centre - 50 min walk - but has no. 23 bus service immediately outside which makes travel to/from the city very convenient. It is also a 20 min walk or 6-7 min bus ride to the nearest tram station and 20 min walk to Albuferta beach. Lovely informed staff. Very clean and rooms serviced daily. Pool and sun bathing area are good. Did not use restaurant but looked busy with good breakfast and dinner buffets.
The staff members were very helpful, all the facilities were exceptionally clean.
There is a water tank in the reception so you can fill your water bottle (really helpful in the summertime to keep hydrated). We walked to the main attractions of Alicante from the hotel. The facilities of the hotel had stairs to get in, however, there was a lift for wheelchair users. The room was big enough as it also provided circulation/manoeuvring areas.
A perfect location on the beachfront and within walking distance to Alicante town restaurants , hotel rooms were good size, clean and all have balconies. Hotel is opposite Alicante Marina. Food and drink were reasonably priced. Face masks are used throughout the hotel and guests not wearing them are politely reminded too.
Well equipped kitchen, perfect for a stay in Alicante. Comfortable bed and even though we were in the city it was quiet. A lovely outside area, very private, with eating area, sun beds and a very nice seating area. We appreciated the tea tray that was left for us, a nice touch. We would definitely stay there again.
I really can not fault this property, first class, I have visited Alicante over the past 6 years, this property is faultless, couldn't wish for a better property, so much history, I stayed in a 5 star hotel for 2 days and to say it did not measure up is an understatement.
Palacio Salvetti is exceptionally unique 👌
Lots of open space, great area to meet people but also be by yourself, or work.
Also a big benefit belongs to the small private rooms including a storage, cupboard and a light and inside the 6 people dorm with great options to take care of yourself.
If I'll stay in Alicante again, for sure here.
I AM TRYING TO BOOK FOR MY FRIEND AS HE DOESNT HAVE CREDIT CARD MORE THAN 4 TIMES ,EVERY TIME HE SEND ME FROM SPAIN THE HOTEL AND THERE IS AVAILABILITY WHEN I START BOOKING THEY WITHDRAW THE MONEY AND THEY CANCEL THE RESERVATION AND THEY REFUND ME AFTER ONE WEEK ,THIS HAPPENS 4 TIMESIN ONE MONTH
Located in the heart of the city with plenty of things going on around the area. We took a bus from the Airport to Alicante which dropped us very close to the Hotel late at night but felt safe walking in the area. Breakfast was very good and more than adequate to keep us going for the day.
This is a very well-located (on the beach) hotel, with excellent staff, large, clean room and good facilities. Alicante is a lovely town, especially this time of year (January) when it is warm, but quiet. Bus links (21 andf 22) from the central station are excellent.
Comfortable hotel in the center of Alicante. Comfortable bed and pillows. Excellent breakfast. Helpful and attentive staff. The room was very quiet (didn't face the street). Easy walking to bars, restaurants, the promenade and the marina. Very clean.
We went to Alicante for the bonfires of San Juan and this hotel was a great place to stay. The staff were very friendly and helpful with advice on where to go for the best views. Hotel is close to the city centre and not too far from the beach
Lift to 5 th floor
Very good shower and hygienic toilet
Quiet, good insulation
Free water bottle
Small but clean room
For a budget hotel I find it very good
Only about 200m to C6 bus stop for Alicante airport (3.85€)
Good location very close to the city centre and mushrooms Street, nice restaurants and caffes in the area.
Staff are friendly and helpful.
Very clean hotel.
Bus direct to the airport across the road.
This place is amazing! Really good price for the new hotel. All furniture and really everything is very new and nice. IMO best hotel in Alicante for that price. It was also close to the city center.
The place was easy to find, very central, and extremely clean. We really liked the suite and found it spacious for most hotels in Spain. Amelia was very responsive and attentive.
After these many travels, I would say you can find something even inn5 star hotels, but I think here deserves more than 6.5. At least, I recommend for winter which I stayed.
