The hotel and gardens are beautiful and grand. The staff were friendly. The lunch buffet was very reasonably priced, with a lot of choice. It was very convenient for catching the boat to Tangier.

I've waited some time now before writing this review because I was so angry about the stay here, I needed to calm down and not be too emotional about my review.
The only positive thing I can say is that the staff on reception are nice, polite and helpful.

Super comfortable king sized bed, decent breakfast and friendly staff. Also pet-friendly! Free parking nearby on the street. Well equipped gym. Gibraltar is only a 25 minute drive which makes this hotel an great and inexpensive choice!
Set just minutes from the beach, the Hotel Mirador’s rooms boast free internet connection, and large balconies from which you can admire great views of Algecira Bay.

Comfortable with a good bar and restaurant serving a limited variable menu. Rooms were spacious with several offering views of the bay and Gibraltar from the balcony. They were very flexible when we required to stay longer because of a change in circumstances.
Set in Algeciras, 1.6 km from Rinconcillo Beach, Apartamentos Albeniz offers air-conditioned rooms with free WiFi and express check-in and check-out.

Great contact with the owner, a lot of good information about what is valuable to see in Algeciras and neighborhood. Clean place to stay and see the town, Tarifa and Gibraltar.

Amazing place! Wish we had been there for longer 😊

It is a great place to get ferries to Morocco or to get the shuttle to Tarifa to do the same.
I have been before and found it to be a pleasant small town with a good patisserie/bakery that had Moroccan foods (briouwats, mini pastilla, etc).
The reason for the 'average' rating of the town stems from the fact that the place I booked was unhelpful and would not allow me to access the property at midnight even though I had paid in advance. As a result I was stranded and had to wander about at night, sleep on a too short stone bench and cat nap until the FRS ticket offices opened.
Algeciras is reasonably easy to navigate on foot. There are some cafés by the central market that open early for the traders. There is also a Carrefour express in the area between the train Station and the port with a full selection of goods.
I cannot rate 'Conv3nient R00ms - F3rry, Tr@in & Bus $tation' as I was not allowed entry to the property at midnight (late trains, missed connections) having paid for in advance my room. Unfortunately the proprietor was not helpful and I was left wandering the streets all night as not other hostals were open. A cold night with a very short stone bench! (Perhaps this is a rating?) I would avoid this place on my next visit and look for a better rated (more expensive hostal/hotel.
I would love to return yet again to Algeciras under better conditions and have an actual 'holiday there, rather than using it merely as a travel interchange. The town looks lovely and no doubt has things to offer away from the mildly salubrious Tran Station/Port area.

Gibraltar can not be reached by train, and one needs to stay a night somewhere to explore Gibraltar. Algeciras is ideal for this stay, and if you are here, then spend some hours for walking Algeciras,

After being in Marocco for 2 months, it felt like I was still in Marocco, but at the bus station, you can get a bus ticket to Madrid for €21.78, it's a 9 hr bus ride and only makes a 30 min stop, but it was worth it, didn't like Algeciras, but the stay at the Hostel was brilliant, only thing the property needs to do is, undated on how you enter the property.

A much more authentic experience of a Spanish small city/town. Less busy than most other locations in this area and we loved it. We could easily have stayed a week. Very good tuna combo plate at Maridaje.

We weren't intending to stay here but had an extra day due to the ferry cancellation. The centre was small enough to walk round and was interesting enough without having anything really noteworthy.

a really nice city, they are a lot of options to eat Typical food there, i ate Tapas and lot of ham, to get around you can simply walk, take a taxi or just use the public transport. we liked going out and have a few drinks wich was not a problem because all the options that are around the city.
This place is so unique - The view from the terrace is unbelievably beautiful, and it takes 30 seconds to get down to the beach.
The hotel itself is well maintained, comfortable and super clean.
The restaurant is out of this world! One of the better meals we had in Spain.
And, most importantly, Fernando and the rest of the staff were so welcoming and nice. Made us feel at home from the moment we checked in.
The hotel was the 1st and Ground floor of a tower block consisting of private apartments - just 10 or so rooms
Parking is nearby on the street with a lot of options
Diego was a great host - spoke great English and did everything he could for us
great restaurant just around the corner
room was fine and great value for money
short walk to the beach
- the staff was friendly and gave us a room on a higher floor with a good view
- the hotel looked good from inside and outside
- the room was well equipped
- the breakfast was in the hotel restaurant and pretty much standard
- the bed was comfortable
- free parking spots were located in the vicinity
Right at the bus station in Algeciras, literally at the door so if you arrive at night with a bus from Málaga for example, you don't have to walk on the street.
There are buses at the door to travel.
Nice big beds, clean rooms, does not smell if cigarettes like other Algeciras hotels.
Decent bathroom
Very nice hotel room. Easy keys collection from the 24h reception desk. Modern, clean, large room with functional layout. Free street car parking in from of the hotel. Good location close to the port and ferry terminal. Free breakfast included in the price. Strongly recommend.
This hotel is always so clean and the rooms are brighting. I like the comfort, the staff, the cleanliness of this place and the size of the room is impressive. For me maybe is the tenth time being there and I got never disappointed. Thanks!
The family run business we're really super helpful and really friendly as well. Such lovely 😍 people. Apartment was great location and well equipped kitchen etc. Would definitely use again if visiting Algeciras. Many thanks.
No this , it was so dirty , bed sheets were under the blankets , dust everywhere , the receptionist was a bit rude didn’t talk to us properly .
And it was a bit expensive compared to other hostels I’ve been to In Spain.
Secure off road parking and very close to the port for getting to the ferry for Morocco. The reception staff were excellent, the hotel facilities were also really excellent with a pool, gym, restaurant etc
This is a historic and grand hotel. Really Beautiful. I was happily surprised to when I saw the lobby and rooms. Would definitely return here. Bonus: it is right on the waterfront.
This is a fantastic, old, historic, hotel. Wonderful gardens and a reasonable pool. Great WW2 history, full of spies and intrigue. Early 20th century splendour and elegance.
old hotel but good renovated
Big rooms , nice staff comfortable bed , big bathroom and good buffet breakfast
Public parking is under the hotel
Just some minutes to Center
Very comfy bed and nice temperature in the room...it was cozy.
Free Nespresso coffee down at the restaurant area so we didn't need to leave the hotel in search of a café.
Good point for stop after returning from Morocco via ferry in Tarifa, before going further to the other southern-east Spain regions. Comfortable rooms, good bathroom.
