Angelina greeted us and escorted us to our room which was lovely and a small balcony overlooking the pool. The property itself is gorgeous and there are lots of places to sit quietly and it feels like you are in someone's home We loved the trust in the guests to help themselves to drinks and the pool area was lovely. The little touches made the stay even better, for example towels available by the pool and all the candles lit in the evening around the property. Breakfast was fantastic and we loved all the little notices especially different types of chocolate and fruit and yoghurts. The hot food on the buffet was also lovely. Parking across the road was easy and the Villa restaurant next door to the hotel was superb We had a fabulous stay and we could have stayed longer. We will definitely return and maybe choose one of the beautiful suites next time
Located within the Cabo de Gata nature park, this typical rural hotel provides a charming and peaceful setting for your relaxing break in the sun.

The hotel is peaceful and spotlessly clean with ample car parking spaces.
The food is first class, nicely presented and delicious.
It is obvious that it is run by a family not paid employees.
We will be back again next year.

Very clean and friendly place with a good choice of bars and restaurants even late in the season. Very quiet at night which was perfect. no loud music or shouting in the streets. Very easy access to the beach which was cleaned every day. Entering the sea for a swim was easy as there aren't any rocks at the water's edge as there are on so many beaches further north.

Fabulous Hotel. We will be back. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. Excellent breakfasts and delicious dinners. A truly Lux Experience in beautiful nature and surroundings, amazing room and facilities. Even the detail of having a bottle of sparkly in ice with two glasses in our room awaiting our arrival. Spa treatments superb and well worth the money.
And did I mention the gorgeous pool and jacuzzi experience perched on the side of the hill with amazing sea views and perfect silence?

Agua Amarga is a small beautiful village with a long sandy beach cove. It is ideal for a short visit. There are a small number of restaurants and bars in the village whose main speciality is fish. Agua Amarga is unspoilt and very popular in the summer and many visitors moor their boats in the bay. There is a motor home park just outside the village and many apartments to rent in the summer season. The Hotel Family is an excellent hotel to stay in and is 2 minutes from the beach. Out of season Agua Amarga is quiet and tranquil and is ideal for a relaxing stay.

If you're traveling from Almeria by public transportation, make sure you find out the bus schedule. It doesn't pass by frequently. The only bus in the afternoon on a Friday was at 8 pm and the only bus back to Almeria on a Monday morning was at 9:10 am. The bus company you can call is Frahermar.
The hike to Cala de San Pedro has amazing views! It could take 3 to 5 hours from Agua Amarga.
Immaculately clean, king size comfortable bed, 1.5 bathrooms, well equipped kitchen, several large terrasses with outdoor furniture, 2 steps to the pretty pool, and a view of the emerald ocean. The groomed beach within a short walk. Your own parking spot. The cute village. A little piece of paradise. But people with bad knees beware. The villa has 3 levels. Four if you count the roof terrasse. The main bedroom is on one level and the kitchen and living rooms are upstairs. In the basement is another living room, and the laundry room.
It's a beautiful place and is made to be very personal to yourselves. Perfect place to unwind, chill and enjoy the amazing village, which was once Spains best kept secret. Marcus, his wife and his mother go out of their way to make your stay perfect. Their breakfast and evening meals are cooked for you personally. There is nothing you would want more. I've been coming to Agua Amarga and spent time eating in their restaurant for years but this is the 2nd time that I've had the opportunity to stay and it is perfection. Thank you
The hotel was beautiful, the grounds were amazing, it was a perfect stay. Our room was very traditional, a good size with a big terrace overlooking the pretty plants in the garden. The pool area was very inviting with comfortable sun loungers. We had dinner both nights in the lovely courtyard, the food was very tasty and the service was impeccable. We also enjoyed a delicious breakfast each day, where there was a huge selection to choose from.
The location, surrounded with stunning views, within walking distance to Agua Amarga, which has a couple of small supermarkets to buy necessities. The super private pool, terraces and grounds, the house itself, artful and very comfortable with lots of sofas and areas to sit and enjoy, the huge, well equipped kitchen. Just the two of us, and we each had our own bedroom. Slept very well! Great hospitality.
It’s a fantastically beautiful hotel with a very attentive staff. I stayed at the hotel for an anniversary and my fiancé and I got our room upgraded and a complementary champagne. That was simply incredible. The view is something else also and a jacuzzi 🤤
Beautiful building with quaint room - shared and out door shaded sitting area
This was perfect for bicycle storage.
Delicious dinner in hotel restaurant.
Thee absolutely best breakfast of our 8 week biking holiday.
A fabulous family run business
We really enjoyed our stay here so much. Everyone was so kind and welcoming, the breakfast was good and the hotel was perfectly located and had free parking possibilities. Agua Amarga is so beautiful. We would definitely return.
One of the nicest most comfortable, clean hotels we have stayed in. The breakfast was excellent and it was the little touches which made this hotel so exceptional. The location is truly lovely and so convenient.
Well equipped and very nice apartment with easy pool access and a roof terrace. Very close to the beach (as everything in Agua Amarga). Nice contact with Ruth who is very helpful!
perfect clean modern hotel. rooms perfect. staff great. a must stay if in the area. free secure parking. If you are looking for a quiet location near a good beach, this is the one
Great location a few minutes drive from the village of Agua Amarga. Quirky accomodation in a good way, beautiful garden, pool, and day bed. A calm place to unwind.
Beautiful small secluded hotel with great staff. In a lovely setting and nice pool and landscaped gardens. Excellent local dishes for the evening dining.
