Good breakfast, great music during the breakfast, wonderful staff, good/central location, spacious room- after they changed it for us at our personal request, due to the very small and uncomfortable third "bed" in the superior triple room that we booked at first for 3 adults (it was not a sofa bed, as was pointed out in the description, but like a folding armchair). Simply that was not a room for 3 persons, no matter what it's called.
The other 2 beds in both rooms were normal and comfy.
Also, they gave us an extended check out, until 2pm, without any problems, which is great when you have a late flight.

I've stayed here during the football championship. And there was a big celebration in the street with drums and fireworks. I must say, the windows in my room were absolutely bulletproof. I could hear almost any noise and could sleep well. The breakfast was great. And again, it was so quiet. I also liked the view. The location is the best.

This is a very cosy hotel, with very kind and helpful staff! We were tired after our overnight flight from Canada (up 25+ hours straight), and were brought coffee on a tray to our room while we settled in. We were assured before coming they would help with luggage, as there's no elevator. One of the staff happily lugged my heavy suitcase up the carpeted stairs to our room. She offered to bring up my husband's backpack, too, but he didn't need the help.
We were also given a room on the first floor (2nd floor for N.A. visitors); in fact, a choice of two rooms. We picked the smaller one, because it faced away from the street. The room was very comfortable, with a fan to help keep us cool at night. There were some warm days, so it was appreciated. I think we had to unplug a lamp to plug in the fan, but lugs can easily be at a premium in an old building, so no problem.
The front desk was very ready to help us in other ways, too. There were maps and tourist brochures available. I asked what restaurants they recommended. We were given four names (Schwarzer Adler, Keller's, Kürfurst, Alter Simpl), and they were all very good indeed! (Reservations recommended for the Schwarzer Adler.)
I can't honestly say the breakfasts were better than other German hotels we've been in over the years, but they were certainly good and filling. Instead of a buffet, which is more what we're used to, breakfast was brought to us. I did enjoy the scrambled eggs, as hot breakfasts are rare overseas! They cheerfully supplied me with extra plain buns and bread, when I told them that unfortunately I couldn't eat any of the several buns with sunflower seeds (annoying allergy).
The bathrooms are the norm, with a shower stall, sink and toilet. All perfectly clean, and no problems with poor flow or lack of hot water. The duvets were folded fresh every day, and although I thought I folded mine quite neatly, I think they always did it again. :-)

Mannheim is overshadowed in the tourist world by Heidelberg,...
Mannheim is overshadowed in the tourist world by Heidelberg, which is a local transit ride away. Nevertheless, it has its own attractions, and I'd recommend giving it a few days. Very easy to get to by train from Frankfurt, which was partly why we chose it. We were there three full days (plus arrival/departure days), and greatly enjoyed ourselves. It's very walkable, though there is excellent transit if you need to use it (we didn't).
The Reiss-Engelhorn Museen are of absolutely excellent quality for a city museum complex. They had a lovely exhibition of Art Nouveau glass while we were there, and their archeological display on Mannheim is very good indeed!
The Kunsthalle has art from the Impressionists to the 21st C. That includes a lot of art movements that I normally ignore in any other gallery, but we found it unexpectedly interesting. Having had to pay to see it, we were determined to take our time, and it was rewarding. What they have is well curated. By the way, anyone who has ever read Lovecraft must see 'Mootherr' by Laure Prouvost! Very creepy! :-)
Lots of good restaurants to eat in! We enjoy German food, and were not disappointed. Recommendations given for the Alter Simpl, Kürfurst, Schwarzer Adler and Keller were all solid. Plenty of other places to eat, as well, including a largish Turkish quarter, as well as the inevitable Italian and doner-kebab places.
It's a fun city to walk around in. Interesting and varied architecture, and small enough to cover much of the main grid in a few days. There are some spectacular murals on the buildings, and you can get a guide to the better-known ones.

I really liked my time in this city.
I really liked my time in this city. I wish I had prepared for a day or two more. I liked that you could get anywhere easily with the tram or just walking. I found various vegetarian options. I really liked the Jesuitkirche, The Baroque Place and the Rosengarten

The city lost its German values.
The city lost its German values. I have never seen such a dirty city, cigarette butts and trash everywhere. Not safe to walk in the centre during night. The Market square offer only kebab shops. I had my dinner at the Kurfürst Wirtshaus am Markt, one of the six German restaurant that offered traditional, good quality food. Next time I will avoid... this fallen city.

We went to see a lot of Christmas Markets and the Novum hotel is round the corner from the train station and we found it easy to travel to all our destinations , plus visiting interesting places in Mannheim , Our only problem was that we could not benefit from the Deuch travel ticker that cost €49 and you can travel all over Germany by trains , trams and buses , for a month , but it is only for Germans and not for the European countries as well , which I find unfair . We were happy with our Hotel but we had no Wifi in our room , we could only use their Wifi in the ground floor .

Surprising city.
Surprising city. Some very nice, historic areas, and excellent shopping malls and streets. Lots of good cafes and restaurants.
As with most cities, it is quite busy with traffic, and is noisy throughout the night with major roads running through and around it. Also, again like many places, some neighbourhoods can feel a little unsafe, with groups of people gathering and drinking on corners etc.
Worth noting that many cafes and small convenience stores only accept cash, or only take card payments above a certain amount. There are plenty of ATMs, but the ones not at a bank can charge very high fees to withdraw cash.
Whilst the city is easy to walk around and not huge, the tram is a brilliant way to get around. Day tickets are reasonably priced, and you can travel pretty far out to neighbouring towns and cities. They do get busy around morning and evening rush hours, and they can get very full.
Food and beverage prices get higher the closer you get to the tourist areas. The main tourist area is around the Water Tower. Some nice cafes around the gardens, but be prepared to pay more for things there.
There are some really excellent places to eat dotted around the city. Mainly small independent spots, and prices are generally very reasonable. Of these, I can highly recommend Caffe Sammo, Baguelette Café, Henriette Burger Bar, and JAMY'S Burger which are all places we ate. Some of the service can be a little slow, but I don't know whether that was because of the time/day we went, or whether there were shortages of staff. Nothing major, but not necessarily what everyone might expect.
Overall, Mannheim is a decent place. I wouldn't say it's a tourist heaven, and it is fairly mundane in many ways. We were there visiting our daughter at Mannheim University, but I probably wouldn't have the city very high on a list of German tourist destinations.
We stayed at the hotel for one night while on a road trip in the south of Germany. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful and we felt welcomed and comfortable. The room was clean and had everything that need. The breakfast was very good with many choices at the buffet and also on request. We even enjoyed the fitness room after sitting for some hours in the car. The hotel is next to the train station and very close to the city centre, with easy access on foot to a variety of restaurants and museums.
I stumbled upon this Best western after staying in their other hotel which is near to a concert hall that I went to. I would come back to this hotel again and in fact did so on my return trip from Switzerland on route back to the UK. Great brewery pub a short walk away and large supermarket over the road. Easy to park and a greta breakfast for 12 Euros. I shall return here for any trips that require a stop over in Germany.
The staff were very warm and friendly. The hotel is a bit dated but they have done well to maintain it and keep it clean and comfortable. Worth a stay if on a budget. Location was perfect! Lots of restaurants, stores nearby and with direct bus connections to the Mannheim train station and other areas.
I arrived after a very long travel day The reception people were excellent, efficient, and informative They recommended Francs for dinner ad I was not disappointed The room was well furnished, comfortable and quiet. And the breakfast was AMAZING!! I will be back when I am back in Mannheim!!
Stylishly decorated in dark colors, we both loved the decor. Mattress was hard and duvet was too light for me, but this seems to be the European way. We walked around and found a delicious spot to eat some Indian food for dinner. Breakfast was good compared to other hotels.
Comfortable room; location is perfect for walking into downtown Mannheim and/or visiting the historic Wasserturm. Front desk was extremely helpful. Parking conveniently available across the street or in front of the hotel. Would recommend for a nice stay in Mannheim.
Very friendly and professional staff, warm welcome and i could check in extremely early, this was a pleaseant surprise. Nice modern and very clean room, comfortable bed, nice shower. Cool hotel design. Extremely central location.
A nice apartment-hotel in Mannheim for a reasonable price at an excellent location. I liked that it had a laundry room at the basement. I had a couple of questions and the staff answered very fast via the booking.com messaging.
The breakfast was delicious and there was a huge choice of things to eat.
Hotel is very well located, with view on Wasserturm, with private parking but also very easy accessible from central railway station.
The hotel is very close to the main train station in Mannheim and very easy to find with a 10-15 minute walk.
The room and facilities are clean and well maintained and the staff are courteous and helpful.
The location was well within walking distance to the bahnhof and restaurants/pubs.
The hotel was older but kept up, a lot of history. True German styling.
