The room was big enough for me and my daughter. The windows offered a view of the main station and the direction of the riverside. The hotel was located within walking distance of the main station. It was also close enough for the other city attractions to be reached by foot.
We did not opt for breakfast, so I would not be able to say anything on this.
The staff were very helpful and kept my luggage at the reception after check out while we explored the city attractions before we took our train out of Hamburg after 10pm.

We were there to visit friends but we had a couple of days where we went into the city of Hamburg and enjoyed all the sites the weather wasn’t very kind to us while we were there but we enjoyed it hamburg itself I found to be a little expensive just to have coffee and cake in a restaurant cost me €22 which I thought was a little expensive But I would return again

Bad. It is rather expensive city. Old appearance was seriously damaged after the WWII, so the city doesn't look like holistic structure. The weather is very changeable.
Good. There are a lot of interesting (thematic) playgrounds. Haven city is actively developing district and if you fond of contemporary architecture you should see it. The ducks on the inner alster are very cheeky, so it was a lot of fun to feed them. The old metro on elevated tracks is quite interesting.

Lovely having a relaxing walk along the harbour front in the sunshine during a very warm couple of days in May,
Mega easy to get around using the S-Bahn and U-Bahn.
The friendliest staff in the whole Germany -I know, I travel a lot-, I even got a fresh coffee for the road after checkout. Receptionists were all highly professional and polite, even the "breakfast lady" was very friendly.

The hotel is located very close to public transportation, and in a very central location in Hamburg. It is easy to get to the airport or the main train station from there. My room was rather spacious, considering it was a single room, and the bathroom had every amenity I wished for. The breakfast was also typical of what one finds in Germany, with a lot of variety and of good quality. The staff was also very nice and helpful.
Very clean room and bathroom. The hotel was able to provide us with a kettle and teacups for us to use throughout our stay, which transformed our experience for the better. The location was perfect- right in the centre of Hamburg's tourist area, near shops, supermarkets, the lake, restaurants, etc. Our room was at the back, overlooking a parking lot, so very quiet except for when restaurants threw out bottles occasionally.
Great location, 5 minutes from the Reeperbahn and in the fun St Pauli district. An unlooked-for bonus was the small smoking lounge, a rarity these days. Staff were friendly and helpful, room was big, bed comfortable. Bathroom adequate. We were able to park right on the street straight in front of the hotel, for nothing, so that was very handy. Also Hamburg seems like a great city, from our experience.
A beautiful, classical style hotel with a long history right across a street from the Aussen-Alster. The staff was amazing and went above and beyond with our welcome, assistance with a rental car return, and advice during our stay. Easy access to the Hamburg Central Train station and the S and U-Bahn tracks. Very walkable to older historical sites, also. A wonderful experience!!
Simply everything. Location, interior, facilities, kind staff, the size of the room, Gatsby-like decorations, I loved everything about it. Furthermore, the underground is right in front of the hotel and there is a pharmacy store and a market nearby. Finally its very close to the attractions/popular streets of the city. I would definitely stay again If I happen to be in Hamburg.
Good hotel for Christmas markets. 20 minute walk to centre of Hamburg. Car park on site. Rooms all ok. Breakfast as expected - 5 minute queue, but well organised.
There was an issue with the air con in the room which we mentioned at check out. Without asking, by way of an apology, they did not charge us for the car park, which was great customer service.
The hotel is in a sensational location, not far from the centre, with which it is very well connected, yet in a quite secluded setting opposite a lake surrounded by greenery. An ideal place to relax, but also as a base for exploring Hamburg. Very helpful and communicative staff. Rooms with stylish interiors. Tasty breakfasts with options for everyone.

Whenever I have a stopover in Hamburg I stay in this hotel if possible. It's so close to the train station, the staff is always very nice and helpful, the room is comfortable and despite being right in the centre it's usually quiet. The windows close well.
Sternschanze is best social life location in Hamburg, but doesn't enough accomodations and this hotel is on good location, value for the money, in fact very good and not expensive as mostly hotels in Hamburg are during the whole year. warm recommend
Very clean, relatively close to the centre (they have e scooters parked outside and it makes it super easy to move around Hamburg). The street behind the hotel is full of cool bars and restaurants and a rather delicious curry house :)
