The staff were friendly and efficient even when busy with restaurant guests, and there was bicycle parking in a locked courtyard. The rooms are good value for money, and the hotel is in a historic building directly on the old town square right next to the chateau. Breakfast is available in the restaurant (at the time of our stay from 08:15 to 09:45), and a breakfast of ham, eggs, and rolls was CZK 130.

Nove Mesto nad Metuji is a charming town in North East Bohemia in Czechia
Situated on top of a hill with a river on three sides it was a fortress town and has a charming square , a castle and old Church . The square has soe nice little shops and very good cafes in fact two of the cafes I would rate as excellent.
Surrounded by lovely wooded hilly contryside it is perfect for exploring the rambling and cycling paths that abound .
A real novelty to UK visitors with its old world charm and attractive buildings of a typical Mittel Europa era
