Litomyšl has a lot to offer not only during the festival of classical music. It is a beautiful hlstorial town set in enchanting countryside. At the same time it has been blessed with inspired elders who have invited excellent modern architects to amplify the charms of the town.
In the neighbourhood I recomend a visit to the chateau and park at Nové Hrady, a rococo gem set in beautiful gardens.

Very nice historical town with lots of places to see and visit. Really calm and peaceful too (at least in October). I can recommend just walking through the beautiful streets or visiting the local palace. People were friendly too and we visited several local restaurants that offer delicious food.

Liromysl has a number of interesting historic buildings to visit and a very attractive central square. Most of the points of interest are easy to walk to. Staff at the tourist information centres were very helpful. It is a good place to explore life in a smaller Czech community away from the large capital.
If you do not mind 2,5 km to the city center of Litomyšl this pension is ideal. A nice foot way along the river Loučná (a very nice bike path along that pittoresque river even longer, like an "English mini park" on the embankment), or if you have a bike very comfortable 7 min ride to the city! The pension is under the bottomline the best I ever had in Litomyšl, were I spent each year from 2012 to now several weeks. It is a familiar pension with a nice ambiente and support.
This is like the old-time European style accommodations, where you stay up above the pub! This is an incredible value. After spending a lot to stay in a very nice accommodation in Prague, we decided to go inexpensive In Litomysl. But I would expect to pay more for the room. it was actually cool to stay in a historic setting right on the square. The hotel renovated and keeps up the rooms really nicely.
The location is fantastic! The historic citiy center of Litomysl is beautiful.
The building was probably renovated recently, it still had that new paint smell.
The room is furnished very tastefully and obviouly with care.
Everything was clean. Complimentary toiletries, a water cattle, coffe and tea provided.
There is also a small fridge in the room.
Host responds faily quickly to messeges.

The hotel is directly in the city center, connected by terrace to castle’s garden. Interior mames you feel like actually living in castle. Restaurant is excellemt and staff very professional and friendly.
Lovely private home just outside of Litomyšl, well within walking distance to the town itself. The nice couple that own the property were extremely accommodating and overall everything was smooth.
Visibly new and modern apartment. Ideal if you tend to spend a few days in Litomysl and its surroundings. A spa which could be booked for a specific hour is a nice bonus.
